Well the big difference between Gal Civ II and MOO II or MOO for that matter is tactical combat. So if you love telling you ships what to do in combat you will be in for a very big disapointment. I missed it so much. For $20, (I don't think the sale is on for $10) I don't think you can really go wrong.
Is there any confirmation that there will be a GC III? I thought there wasn't going to be one. Is this just wishfull tinking? For me I would like the option. In the begining when there is a few ships I love having tactical combat, then later I like to use the "auto" button. Why can't we have both? Why do people who who don't like tactical combat say we can't have it? You don't have to use it if you don't want to, that is why it's great to have Options.
Hello all long time no see. I have got Gall Civ II, and bought it again when I lost my copy. Then when I bought the edtion with Gal Civ II and the 1st expansion I found my copy LOL. (This is before I knew I could redownload it from Impulse) So now I see that on Impulse I have Gal Civ II and the expansion. If I get the Ultamite edtion ( All 3 for $10) and I download it, what will happen with what I already have on Impulse? Now I know I can redownload Gal Civ II and Dark Avatar (I think
I am wundering how you guys like 2.0 for those who played with it. I havn't seen any player reviews for it so I thought I would ask. Sorry if I missed any posts for 2.0 for DA. What do you like about it, what don't you like about it? Since I havn't played much of GCII latley, do your really notice any differences from 2.0?
Well I did anthour complete uninstall. I reinstalled GC II through Impulse, seemed to take forever. Then I installed DA through Impulse. I guess it installs it to the C drive and programfiles and what ever it did. It seems to be working now.
I did as you suggested. I made the smallest map and made contact on turn one. Do you mean I have to play some turns once I get my spy? That will be over 30 turns or so before I get my first spy.I never noticed those 4 squares before. Well of to start a new game and see what happens and hope I have fun. Sole Soul I missed your first post, sorry. I am reinstalling GC II right now. Boy this is taking a while doing it from Impulse. After that I will do DA. I will start a small map and hope I will get into contact with anthour civilization. I will check out what you said. Thanks alot for your help.
Well I did an uninstall and did a reinstall and when I went on Impulse it said it wasn't installed. Mind you I didn't update it through the other way we use to do it. (what was it called?) So I tried to click on impulse to install DA to see what happens and now I have 2 versions of DA, one says 1.5 or what ever it was, and when I clicked on the other icon it said 2.0. I installed impulse, and finally after looking around, I think I installed 2.0. I clicked on update, but then DA disapeared and only GC II was left. I don't think 2.0 can install in less than 10 seconds. So I started DA and it said version 2.0. But nothing looks different for me. Did I do anything wrong? Just curious what Super ability do you guys use and why? I am not shure what to choose, I tried the Super Spy but didn't have much fun in it. mind you I never got past turn 50 and didnt' meet any races yet. Is it really worth it or should I try something else? I was thinking of using Super Isolationist not for colonizing barren worlds but for enemis to be slow in my space. Love to hear what you guys like.
I just reinstalled GCII on my laptop, and updated it to the current version, and checked my DA .exe and it says version 1.7 as well. Maybe you have to uninstall GCII and reinstall it again. I hope this works for you. Good luck
Got a new laptop, hoping Gal Civ II DA will run on it. it's an Acer Aspire 5520 with 2 gigs of ram. I know Vista is a memory hot so I hope I have enough to run it. I can't get any extra ram right now so I am praying it works fine. My question is, what are the must have downloads I should install? I have Kyros ship mod but that's it. Once installed I wsill download the latest update. What is it? Where can I see what it contains. I looked but can't find it anywhere on the GC II website.

If I get TotA by credit card, do I a) get it right away, b) when I download it, do I get it as a file or does it dowload as the patches download for the GalCiv2? My laptop has a slow internet connections so I was wundering if I could transfer the files to my main computer then transfer to the lap top. When I updated Dark Avatar, it took over 45 minutes. Will it take that long for TotA? Any help would be greatly appricaitated, got a credit card now and was wunder

Hey all, was so excited that ToA came out, went to my local EB store and it's not there. Where can I get the game in Ontario Canada? I don't want to buy the game online, is there a place where I can get the game in person? I really want the game, and don't want to wait for pay pal, not shure if I can trust it.

I thought I read that there will be no GalCiv III for a very very long time. The new expansion is suppose to last us years.
