Good to see that there's still a community for our game out there. Although I can no longer run it (my graphics card is ****ed up, along some other things in the tower), I still keep an eye out on the updates and the stuff related to the expansions in the hope that I can one day play them again![e digicons]:inlove:[/e]

Wow... you know, U235, if only critics of an idea or franchise were just as half as constructive and actually innovative as you, the forums of many a videogame might actually be bearable! Please stay on our boards, I implore you, and accept our apologies for our previous behavior towards you on this thread! :SNIFF!:
What game size are you playing? I only encounter that many messages every 13+ turns or so(and that's when the map practically starts to go to war with itself), but definately not every other turn! :SURPRISED:
My favorite would have to be DS9's "In the Pale Moonlight." That was easily the most morally ambiguos Star Trek episode ever made.... ever. That, and it also showed how totally awesome (wickedly manipulative) Garrack can be at times.
Now, if you had asked "Kona, Kane or Grand Admiral Thrawn"... it wouldn't have even been question.
Oh dear God, I don't want to imagine how much of a one-sided battle that would be for Thrawn...
Well, if the problem becomes impossible or is just too frustrating to solve Rhamiel, you can just avoid playing the largest maps, or reduce the graphics somewhat. Granted, it will still crash on you every now and then, but it will be a lot more bearable if you keep the game size a wee bit smaller.
Did you try patching the game? Furthermore, which game are you playing: DL, or DA?
Seems like nobody played or even knows about GalCivII on those boards... :SNIFF!:
Why don't we just assume they're all roughly equal in capability? That way, us nerds will have a lot more fun imagining the space battles, writing fan fiction, or whatever floats your boat.
That's definately a good idea, because as it is in the C&C universe so far Kane has no capability to go into space... yet (though the GDI definately do).
I'd have to say Kane. While Vader may be unstoppable in personal combat an Kona may have the superior weapons, Kane can be downright cunning and treacherous when it comes to manipulation and strategy. That, and the Brotherhood of Nod (the organization he controls) is one damn sneaky faction who would be able to play one enemy off another quite easily.
The good news is that the whole issue of incomplete games tends to happen only to PC games - very rarely will you see an incredibly buggy and literally broken console game (though they do indeed exsist - 'Coded Arms: Contagion' is a good example).
Yes, a more serious style would be cool, but it doesn't fit the rest of the game. Especially taunts such as 'Good work, you cheese-eating surrender monkey!' and other things, like the events where peoples hearts explode. And the ship styles aren't as realistic as they could be. You'd have to put a lot of effort into a mod to change its style. People's hearts exploding?! When the heck does that happen in GalCiv?!? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc
1. Missiles have only one drawback - research costs. Otherwise, they rule. Another thing that goes against missiles in the beginning is size. They're usually take around 10-12 in terms of space until you get past the Stingers and Harpoon techs. The other techs, however, are much smaller and can actually fit on a tiny design in the beginning.
Here's to hoping that you can cause the stars in an enemy's system to turn into black holes, or better yet Magnetars with the new Terror Stars!
Visuals and animations are key part of any gameplay. That is the foundation from which you start building. I definately have to disagree with you here. There are a TON of games out there that have crap graphics, yet still rock hard like they did in their first day out (Super Mario Bros. 3 anyone? ). As for EAW itself... well, I'm definately of th
What's GC2: gold. GC2 Gold is a combination package of DL (which you already have) and DA. I'd buy TA for sure, even if it ends up getting bundled with the other games again (Cause honestly, I don't trust online purchasing too much). Which brings up the question anyhow: Are you gonna release TA on storeshelves as well, or only online?
I play to the end solely for the chance how long my empire's dominance will reign and seeing who or what will try to rise up and (foolishly) challenge me!
I think I just got a hard-on, Brad!
Hey there, kids and people. I'm a Master of Orion veteran and total GalCiv bohab from the start, though admittedly a less-than-vocal one. But I feel like speaking up. I first met Zack here a couple months ago over a telnet client, getting to know him better over IM. After talking to him for awhile, I learned of his blindness and his taste for strategy games, thereby hearing about how sparse the gaming field is for the blind. Not wanting to have him le
I wonder what lead to it's cancellation, someone in the states might answer this best, was it's (enterprise) ratings really low? Or is this another case of studios exec's nurfing a show in favor of survivour 24 or American idol 56? Either way i will get around to buying Enterprise on DVD and watching it eventually. I am waiting for Battlestar Galactica season 3.....Boy the way season 2 finished i bet season 3 is going to be a cracker!! Although
As it is, the majority of GalCiv II is actually charts, stats, lists and coordinates: the only true obstacle I actually think would be an issue would be the galactic map itself. If someone ever manaages to crack that, then you'd pretty much be able to play GalCiv in it's entirety (though you'd definately miss out big on the whole ship design part... a pity). Perhaps a coordinate plane with lat
The longest game I ever had was about eleven years, at least. The reason was because the Acreans ended up digging in real good within their turf and went to war with me, and the Iconians suddenly attacked me due to the leader assasination event.
And I never have a problem with trading with the AI. i know i've seen a few posts where people have said it needs to be fixed but i think its fine. The more valuable the tech the harder it is to get them to trade, just as i would do if i had that tech. Thing is, the AI values some of the techs TOO much, and you can't even sell a planet or all of your techs for anything That, and you'd need to give and arm and a
I've found that the alignments seem to fit the abilities they grant fairly well (and are mostly balanced to boot, though the neutral side has gotten a bit weaker recently). I do agree with Darth though: the kamekaze ship sounds pretty cool along with the Slave Labor Camp!
Hey, since we're sorta on the topic of mod crossovers and such, could you please explain what you meant by the changes Logic made to the race config and such General Pants? Last time I checked, the only difference was in the graphics!
