There is something you build, (can't remember the name) but this item makes all the loosing races surrender to you instead of other races. (i just built one of these yesterday) So if you see races surrendering to one race all the time the chances are they have this building buit.

Hello, I've only been playing for about a week so I could just be overlooking where this is done. Whenever I want to upgrade a ship on the build screen, it gives me the same hull but all the hardpoints are empty. Does it already exist, or can this be added where it shows my current ship and I can just change out parts I want? I've only been playing for about two days so still learning but i'm having some trouble with upgrading ships. Do i need to have already built the ship or have it available at the starport to build before I can upgrade a ship? Also I thought I could just click on a ship, pick upgrade, and then choose which items on that ship I wanted to upgrade, but it doesn't seem to work that way.
