Guys, we definitively have enough of the evil ruling the galaxy; we have enough of oppression, humiliation and aggression. Here, now and today I ask you brave warriors to fight against the evil and free our children from the dark era we are facing now. We will bring evil civilizations to knee down and ask for forgiveness. Forgiveness for all the killings, tortures and slavery brought upon our galaxy during too many years of tears and suffer. <img src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/

Folks, I would sell personal stuff if necessary to immediatelly buy a new expansion! so price really does not matter... In my opinion we will not see any multiplayer one, it's too difficult to get it working, but a second GalCiv2 expansion will make my century.

At the beginning it may appear like a build-up-your-production-and-tech-step-by-step game, but if you go further and try to increase the levels you will often wonder about the AI giving you a lot of challenge. What I mostly like is, that no session is equal to another and there are so many different ways and know-how to get to victory while the AI will always keep you vigilant. The AI is quite smart (well, except when it is sending its troops without protection...hmmmm). With many

I guess from Masochistic up to further levels it is wiser to switch off tech victory as the game quikly finishes ans lets you wonder what happened....

Indeed, I checked the settings again under races' "personality" and interestingly among the rest only the humans were set up to 100% CPU...I never thought this will make such a difference. During gameplay, I sometimes use the option "force AI to use max CPU", but this seems to be another option which applies mainly to all opponents. Does this meant in this case the terrans were up to 200%? I guess I have to study somehow the settings better... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/s

I've never seen something like this before: It is the year 2231 and there are about 8 races. I'am playing on crippling and each race has fleets with about 100 to 150 attack and something like 50 defensses. The humans declared war upon each race and they came with huge fleets of 54 logistics with above 1000 attack each and even more defenses....what the f**k? That's not funny, I mean after a few turns they closed the game with a tech victory. What's wrong with the humans? I trie

Ough, as I experienced, the dread lords (hate'em) get pretty the maximum of bonuses. I remember all had weapons of something like 12 per middle ship, the dread lords were manufacturing the same ship with 900 hit points!!!! All wars were somehow stopped and everyone was sending entire fleets against'em.. Therefore try to always weep them out early in the game with a max. of resources....

Sounds like moral in DA is even more horrific than in DL? Welcome to the tricky, smashy and dangerous world of DA ! I liked all the feedbacks above, especially "selling these farming techs to other civilisations in order to let them be demoralized with population growth..." Human Intelligence > AI...

11 Replies 6,252 Views

Please correct me if I’am wrong, but I think it’s completely unnecessary to research the tech line: Farming. I mean if you are boosting your population above 12b on your "normal" planets you quickly get them overpopulated and demoralised. An advanced farming tech allows you to just increase the size of your people, but why should I research further? I have anyhow enough trouble keeping them content… I’

True, in DA it is more difficult to manage $$$ than in DL. At the beginning of the game I’m always playin' to the limit of my finances, keeping the moral above 50% it's enough and always look forward trading too + building 2-3 economic starbases. Often you have to slow down everything (50-70%) but later on, if you manage well your planets the income starts quickly growing which is mainly welcome to bear your army (ships are expensive, therefore quickly replace the obsolete ones...). Sure, but it's hard to buy ships from the other races during wary times...merchants wouldn't care, they sell it to you and the good point is: the ship is delivered quickly directly to your homeworld, insurance included, yop.

Folks, It would be interesting to be able to buy special Ships from different Merchants, Galactic Traders & Co. There would be a market and you can see those ships, with strong hps' and al kind of weaponry, they also have strange names etc... It can be interesting, because in the case your fleets are built with one single kind of weaponry, but you come into the situation when you absolutely need 1 or 2 ships with another kind of weapon built on, this can be the intermediate solution

Nice to read your replies, I'am not 35 yet but getting close to and guys you all spread hope around. Respect to Embird, Willgamer, Cobra133 and the others who remind us: he, young also means the way you are thinking and don't stop dreaming whenever you want to. Wifes do not understand of course, it's obvious, that's why first we are keeping the houshold working, have s.., and meet friends etc., but once a week I say to her "ok, now for the next 4 hours do as I wasn't here and try not to dis

I've also been surprisingly attacked by the Yors in DA, no warning or threat or something, just BOOM. Our relations were not that good indeed. Yours were warm, so it's somehow unusual...but he, everything is possible

Strange, never heard there may be such a bug...Please check again if you did not forgett something. I think usual issues of not being able to invade is the missing "planetary bombardment" tech, otherways if you have an alliance with a race you cannot invade them by surprise...it doesn't seem to be the case here. Ships are moving always very slow once they got inside the area of mining fields, I guess that's why you get 0/1, try to atack the fields somehow from outside...

Hi Motti, I thought it may be like that..thanks. I just played in hurry one game on a small map to find out about metaverse... from up to now it becomes serious hehe. PS: nice to see someone with an ethics "very good" in war too....

2 Replies 3,533 Views

Sorry guys, I have some stupid question: I simply don't know if you have to play a game till the end without shutting down your machine in order to let your records show up in Metaverse? You start your game through Metaverse, but after a while you save it and days later you reload it again, will it be then in Meta?

Summering the reactions of all of you, I learned that some say the Iconains are weak other say they are tough, idem with the Yors etc….Ok, it’s pretty sure nothing is predefined, every time you launch a new game everything turns out to be different, I like that. What I experienced is that races’ strength is also strongly influenced by the level you are playing. F.ex. on tough the Dregins are easier to be taken out than on painful, just in comparison of how every opponent is claiming his power i

One thing is sure: you don’t have a pirated serial, because you could use the serial once and played already. It can be that the serial is already registered to another account (check if your registration email is still the same) and this has to be solved then by stardock support indeed. The message which tells you to buy the game is just automatic, I don’t believe these guys are $ hungry sharks… I forgot, but it looks like there are 2 different numbers. That's awfull....when I think I wanted yesterday to get the Metaverse too. I don't understand: if you have the right serial number, which worked before, why can't it be then activated by Stardock online? You should be able to reinstall the game through the download manager "Stardock Central" as many times as you want...

Yeah, the poor Iconians are usually taken out quickly, that’s why I often avoid putting them in the game. Otherwise it is better to increase manually their performance (DA) and thereafter the game takes immediately a different aspect. Guys, one thing is certain: the more difficult level you play the more performance bonuses races will have. In other words the AI is “cheating” by granting 150 and 200% economics performance and so on. This game has a great AI but human intelligence stil

I never played on a gigantic map, I'am afraid starving in pijama for about 30 days by doing so...What I mostly liked in Tom's diary is the idea of making your people happy with let's say less taxes and this is what I'll try next to find out about the benefits. Shouldn't over populate the planets, that's true, but a high moral generates cash as well. PS: SimCity4 fan too: less taxes for the rich, so let them come in your city...
