it's a week. and yes a planet can have 20,000 births in a week. they say that 5 people are born a second. so that's 2,100 babies a week. now add in the factore of more inhanced technologie. larger base population, a planet that is much more better quality than earth, and probably you can imagine cloning and artifical births to the roster. and wow. the population does grow fast.
you can always just click on the "load" button which restores the civ, custom or not to default
sounds like they got the precursor artifact. or they have lots of bonus stuff. if a race has high luck tehy have more chances of getting these artifacts, tehy all have extremly good effects, like crazy bonus, give 700% reserch on all planet tiles for 1 planet, make all planets in a sector go from PQ0 to PQ8, give you 1 point in all stats everyturn, get a bunch of free ships and so on.
I would love a carrier ala homeworld. you can create "carrier" moduals which let you dock 3 tiny, or 2 small ships per modual. so you can create very slow ships but tons of firepower. when the carrier goes in combat based on the logistics left the ships will undock and fight and then dock back up.

Star Force is the Worst invention Ever. No offence but it actually INCORAGES! me to pirate the game sicne a pirated version excludes starforce. I just bought beyond divinity which I knew had star force but when I use software taht uses starforce I unplug all my CD drives and place my cheap 5$ 4xCDrom and to my suprise! Star Force isn't compatible with Windows XP 64 bit!!!! This is horrible! I payed 20$ for a game to en up it doesn't run! no
