Hehe, it seems that I created a "Hanger craze" with the Ronin class's pioneering design! I name Terran Starfleet's Berlin class Frigate sized vessel and the Ven Protectorate's esteemed flagship the Crusader class Dreadnought sized vessel, along with Arcea's own Shogun class Battleship sized vessel as prime examples. Congrats to the General, Uorx and PeskyFly on creating some absolutely amazing vessels, the talent of the players around here is amazing!
Fate
The Ronin class Frigate of Mother Arcea was - and still is - a marvel of modern engineering with only one (AES Dawn, KIA Jun 2236) every lost in combat, and only so when on route to a rally point and ambushed by a Dregin killer fleet. And yet now news has arrived that will send a cold shiver down even a Korath.. A leaked Spy Picture of the Arcean Empire's latest warship, the battleship sized Shogun class, ruler of the space lanes and everything she sees. From what we can see from this p
The hanger of the Berlin is very impressive General, the Arceans shall learn the valuable lessons from the Terrans improvements and return, with an even greater ship to defend the glorious name of Arcea!
Theres no Tech being researched.. which is impossible to do, normally with sliders at zero it will say something and "Never", therefor I'm going to hazard a guess that thats the bug your on about. Ouch, that would suck!
OoO!!! Brilliant, well done good sir! A brilliant story with a stunning conclusion, and I hope to see what the Coalition is pitted up against next..
Biggest battle in the History of the Universe to come? Looking forward to it!!
WOOT!! The General Lives :D :D :D :D
Agreed, bring forward the rise of the Snathi!
I concur with Mac, the Arceans are my favorite race and they are really struggling under Beta 4C.. They could hold their ground on small maps with rare everything, when you basically only get two worlds but once you get up to a size where you actually have a colony rush they're in trouble. They don't need anything anywhere near as badly as the Thalans do (although the Thalans impromptu Embassy Warfare Tactic works well on small maps - by chance), but they definitely need something a lit
Try to reinstall the game and if the problem persists then the next step would be to email stardock at and get them to help. Their normally pretty prompt during business hours and sometimes will be around after hours as well. It sounds like the Huge Map size dimensions file may be corrupted though, so a reinstall should probably fix the problem.
This is a really great idea Dregin! I remember back when I started playing the demo for DL just after it had come out and I heard about this game down here in Australia, and being completely confused about how bad the ships were and why my enemies were always building better ships then me.. Then I read the basic strategy guide on the site and found out about the shipbuilder, and that saved my life. Went on and bought the game and its been my favorite game every since, thanks to that guide.
Nice Echo, I love how you've managed to get the two ships to look almost exactly the same, although it confused the fark out of me looking at them both and them being the same!!
100th post!!! Lol lame I know, I just wanted to show everyone how AWESOME Namus' "The Terran Odyssey" is and how much we all wish he'd come back to finish it. We Miss You Namus! :CONGRAT:
Antracer's idea is the best one as far as us being able to help you is concerned, Katoran. Start up a thread, probably in the AAR's forum section, and make sure you include screenshots and what you think your next move should be. We'll all jump in and give you advice (probably too much, we're all a little bit too enthusiastic about the game here) and help you progress as a GalCiv2 gamer so you can appreciate the beauty of the game without getting squashed. I've been playing since just after DL's
Loving the Space Cannon Jiggy, that thing is sweet! That F-6E Raven is quite awesome too, I love the bulky-yet-sleek approach their, giving it the meat to have space on it and be big enough to be an actual ship, and yet its still sleek and look absolutely lethal! :D
Here's a couple of my 08 designs, ranging from Planetary Defense Platforms to Tiny Hulls Starting with the big guns, my base level PDP, the Orion. First built on Mother Arcea to defend against the hostile galaxy, the Orion class Small Planetary Defense Platform has two main Capital weapons grade batteries with a full plane of movement (TA rotating parts), as well as four supplementary rotating Fighter weapons grade batteries at 90 degree intervals around the central ring. Later model Or
Do continue, my good General!
Very nice so far, your playing as my favorite race so I'm hooked, keep it up HydroAC !
You made me buy this game, the expension and pre-order the one that is coming. You should be paid to write more!
Wow, compliment and a half for Namus!!
You are sooooooooooo posting the results of this game in here ShadowDemen, you've got me interested in how it turns out!!
Happy Christmas Brad, make sure you take some time off for yourself! Stardock = Teh Sex Fate,
Anyone else have any ideas I can add to this before i start?
How about you've got to make sure you get a 100 to 1 or something of the likes Kill Ratio with your ships (and if your feeling particularly insane, your ground troops as well) at the end of it, to be like a real Spartan? Fate,
Lame, just because GalCiv and 4X games in general don't have a massive fan base like the Vista Launch title Supreme Commander or Zombifyingly gay WOW means it has less of a chance.. That's just stupid. I threw my modest wieght in with StarDock anyway
We love you Stardock :D
And then as he turned his head he gave an involuntary cry of relief. For there, framed against the red glow of the dying day were the faint outlines of an armada of fiery trails descending from the heavens. Their reinforcements had arrived…
Just like a real soldier.. love it. Thought it might be time for me to interject and tell you what a damn fine job you've been doing Namus, The Terran Odyssey is fast becoming my second favorite AAR ever! I've been reading sin
