hi, i've been messing with the options in the video catorgory so it plays ok on gigantic maps, but what does throttle frame rate mean, i've had it checked for weeks, what will it have done, throttle as in strangle, or as in speed up? thanks

i was thinking, but would it be possible either by mod or somehow, to make it so that there is an option for the quality of planets, so we can chose whther to have few fantastic planets or many poor planets etc.

btw just a hint, the position of people in the raceconfig file matters, i made a small scale starwars mod recently, and by replacing the Thalan with Sith, they had the same charactiristics (as in not expanding etc) but the Mandolorians, who were the Arceans expanded and waged war just as they should, don't know if you already knew that,good luck

i wouldn't mind tactical battles, i mean i'd buy the expansion, but... what i'd like is more customisation, simply because that's what makes Galactic Civilizations great, i've had this game since soon after release, and even though i've bought many games since then, i still play GalCiv, because i can just make it about something completly different, the 1.2 patch did wonders for modding, i've just made (still needs some work) a Star Wars mod, with the Sith, Old Republic, and Mandolorians, i'll p

my idea for the ethics would be too make 'buying' good insanely expensive, but power it up, a lot, so that way the only way to be able to go good, would be doing good deeds, long run-short stuff, whereas evil would have its planetory benefits (from the choices) but compared to good, weak.

i like the idea of them being implemented, and perhaps an option for them to be enabled while setting up the game for those who don't, also to balance it, it could take time to charge, say, 6 turns, and during this time it's vulnerable to attacks,

i would like a planet killing ship, but with limitations, such as it takes 6 turns to charge up the destruction beam, limited movement (but wide range, or vice versa) and rather vulnerable, but i think it would be a nice addition, wasn't there such a device in Galactic Civilisations I? I only had the demo but i remember a UP meeting about planetary destruction.

i think a more powerful UP would be great, but i'm not too sure on having them meet more often, i do love the UP meetings, but 4 a year and we would get through the options pretty fast, and the UP is something to look forward to

for ground combat why not a more simple ersion of like advance wars (GBA) as in turn based and a rock paper sissicors scheme, wouldnt have to be too complex, just interactive.

you can make techs, i've been making a few for my saiyan race, they work, but i'm not sure how you would go about increasing the weapons, have you tried looking at other techs that do that, or if not, look and the drives, as they increase speed of all ships, so maybe just change the parameters.

what ever you do, don't disable planet/sun textures! i tried it out to see what it was like, and it looked like microsoft paint, although kudos to stardock for allowing it to go that low, also keep ship textures, and get the 1.2 patch, so you can disable complex explosions.

i think it would work better if the cost of good was greatly increased, so it's practically impossible to 'buy' good, but then *really* powered it up, so that way, while it still sort of hurts to choose good choices, in the end it is worth it, i'm not sure what bonuses good would get, perhaps a PQ bonus, infuence, some good stuff anyway.

a word of warning, if you take a pop bonus, try and get a moral one too, otherwise they'll multiply too quickly for your morale tech too keep up
