Ill give it a try tonight with lowering the new options, enhanced ship rendering and the terrain variety slider. And i'll check the memory usage as well once i get that error
Baleur
Yep, same problem here. Constantly Out of Memory errors.. Its getting really annoying, especially when you just designed 10 awesome ships, and you cant save the game because of the out of memory error... Byebye! 1.5 didnt have this problem for me, nope it didnt. In fact i never ever had this problem before i updated to 1.6.. And i dont want another link to some stupid FAQ thread, they are no help. They just always state the obvious newbie stuff, "increase your pagefile size", "make
Ive noticed the same ever since before i installed any patches, almost always happens on the class 4 planet you get in your starting solarsystem.. Like.. Maby it grows to 2 billion, then it just stops, even tough there is food for 5 with the colony being there and all, and then way late in the game it might be at 3 billion, really wierd stuff.
The best defence is attack If there are no enemies left to shoot, you cant die =D
Edna hasnt been reading too much sci-fi, YOU have not read ENUGH sci-fi! What you would know then is the amazing fact that the real world and the sci-fi line is a very very fine constantly blurred line. We have the capability for a self-evolving AI, we just dont have the funding for it. Its just like when people said that you couldnt go to the moon, or tought that the stars were a flat sheet over your heads.. You will be amazed at what can be acomplished in the next 10 years. Did
It is a coincidence. And its not a big coincidence either, it had to happen sometime, so.. My prev card got busted when clicking the OK button in the driver settings, but it wasnt because of me changing the anti-aliasing settings. It was because it simply was time for that card to die
Are you kidding me??? So then there is no reason at all to choose which weapon the starbase should assist? Noo that cant be true? A starbase which assists beam weapons give those bonuses to ships with only missile weapons? LOL, thats like cheating if its true
Its not that hard..... Not if you have any sense of imagination anyway. I've built countless of completely unique detailed ships, and i've been doing CGI for 6 years and i find originality to be easier than the process of creation itself Some ppl just dont have imagination thats all <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 A
Well, with the "nebula" things in the background being of such low quality (its like the standard photoshop cloud filter, no fancy business), dont expect any of this to look good I'd rather see Stardock hire some talented artists, and have these types of features in GalCiv3 instead <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 AL
".. and are satisfied" LOL, i dunno, might be one of those few times in the world where there are no such people?
Stardock definetly took a step backwards when adding the activation.
First of all, oblivion is NOT 1/4 the size of Morrowind, its way deeper and better in every aspect, i completely adore the game. Secondly, i also completely adore GalCiv2, but lets remember that GalCiv2 didnt have a huge ad-campaign, if any at all. This has nothing to do with "which is the best game?", it has to do with money, PC Gamer needs to have a huge review for the most anticipated game in order to tell ppl wether or not its worth it, s
I think his point was that the star changed color from blue to yellow :o
OR, the military starbases effect could count on the individual weapons on the ships instead on a ship as a whole.. Example: Light Fighter with 1 Laser + Starbase with +2 Laser = 3 Laser attack strength. And the very same applies to the heavier ships, so as you said more smaller ships would end up getting a higher attack rating than fewer larger ships, due to the bonus being given on a per-ship basis. Now im
lol...... this game is moddable which means any sucker with any minimal paint skills can copy and paste the star wars logo into the game if they wanted to, its all good noone is gonna sue you. The difference is if you would SELL that mod or use it in public (commercials etc).
As it is now the core ship designs are pretty useless, unless you quickly need 1 defender totake out a troop transport or something.. How bout making it so that the core ships upgrade themselves whenever a new component research is done?? For example the starfury, which currently is exactly the same as the defender except for the hull/hitpoints, yet they both require the same maintenance (1bc), so its pretty useless.. What if it wo
it would be cool as heck if the core ships would automatically be upgraded with new engines and weapons and stuff as you research improvements..
its a bug when u loaded a savegame and messed with the existing ships, but ive also noticed that sometimes it doesnt build the ship you tell it to (if you have upgraded a ship many times with the same name), but it builds an earlier version of it instead. This can be fixed by using the proper in-planet shipbuilder screen instead of the quickbuild screen.
It has escorted transports on Normal difficoulty for me.. It seems its pretty random if the AI is really smart or stupid, on either intelligence level.
you are NEVEr going to have thousand ships, the upkeep would ruin you quicker than you could build them. Besides you can have as many ships as u want ingame. In combat however, if there wasnt a logistics limit, the only thing you would be able to see with 200 ships in combat at once would just be tiny dots, the camera would be zoomed out so far that the ships would be compromised of 1 polygon lol <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/
5 BC you say..... That would be 100 BC on a 20 Billion planet... Thats quite alot of money actually, way more than the Entertainment centers and such require, lets say we need 4 to keep the ppl over 50%, and upgraded they need what, 2 BC maintenance? Thats 100 BC - 6 BC = 94 BC pure profits
To actually answer you ..... Yes, i am prettu sure you can just download the game as many times as you want with your stardock login and password. Since you already bought the game, why would you have to buy it again? You just gotta remember your login and password, and have the serial just in case.
Actually i dont have any problems at all with either the economy or the morale after 5 games of learning (sure thats alot, but still). I usually have a few 24billion pop planets just pumping out taxes, like 3 farms and 3-4 entertainment stuff, the rest of the tiles are for market centers and an economic capital. The thing to do is to research what you really NEED right NOW, if you have problems with morale, research xeno entertainment and up, if you have problems with cash, research th
im still impressed that every single galactic emperor manages to convince every single inhabitant, grandma and granchildren alike, to pick up a gun and fight, even if its a star democracy
