Maybe you bought a copy that was returned tot he store and the previous owner had already registered the game? I'd contact Stardock support, or simply return the game for another copy.

I'm having this same problem and it's driving me crazy, though in my case I'm wondering if it has something to do with the fact that I reformatted my computer since the first time installed the game. I have no idea how to fix it. I've tried using SDC to gen a new serial and put it into Galciv, copy and paste and everything, but I always get the same results. My two cents... UAF put it rightly in his first point above. Good spelling and grammar gives a better impression. For many of us, the spelling errors ARE a distraction. To us, a book, an article or a game looks sloppy and rushed when it's full of spelling errors, because well, when we post to forums or write papers and they have those sorts of errors, it's generally because it WAS sloppy and rushed (or we were too lazy to go back and check our work).
