I would like a more realistic space environment. 3D, not top-down. When a new planet is discovered, it would be nice if people from your civ just began colonizing it and requested a charter. Any planet within your influence becomes colonized. If under empire system, no charter required. Also, when you have Star Federation, you should be able to invite minor races to join your federation. You could share techs automatically and firepower as well. They

I thought that they canx the project and decided to keep working on GC2. It would be nice to have the bug fixed for the not seeing ships in the mini map with eyes of the universe and the whole "create your own ship style" fiasco. If they are going to continue supporting it, they need to get to it so that if they ever do create a GC3, they will still have their following.

I think it's stupid that you can easily customize an opponent's ship style and have to do a bunch of text editing to do your own. Come on Stardock. Get off your butt. You abandoned GalCiv 3 to support GalCiv 2, when are you going to fix this? We shouldn't have to go through notepad to make our custom ship style apply to our custom race. Seriously! <img src="http://web.stardock.net/images/smiles/themes/digicons/Glare%20Right.png" alt="" /

I'd like to start this out with a few suggestions of my own. Longer tech trees. At some point in my games, I get everything researched. Then I scrap all my research labs and then there's not much for me to do besides the tedious wiping the galaxy of my opponents. So it would be nice if there advancements in weaponry for instance were much more numerous and might even have branches that take different courses with trade-offs in size/cost/effect. As an example

Hello all. We've been enjoying this wonderful game for a some years now. And we're all kind of spoiled in that we got two fantastic expansions along the way. But now, if you're anything like me, though you're still playing and loving it, your thinking that this or that could be improved, maybe as an expansion. So I've created this post to provide a forum for suggestions. Stardock is good about listening to their customers. My recommendation for this

Yup. We could have direct colonies to focus on particular technologies and types of ships. Also, it should be possible to have shipyards that are in space. It's also a little strange that planetary bombardment doesn't include blasting improvements from space without actually invading. And planets should also be equipable with defenses and weaponry. I'm also thinking about augmenting the tech tree as a mod. I'd probably call it "Never Ending Tech Tree".&

Oh yes, I understand perfectly the distinction. In fact, for that reason, I almost never purchase ships and I especially don't finance. It cuts into my research budget. There has long been a desire to have the ability to be able to either use the excess military production as described above by being able to build more than one ship at a time (after all it is the shipyard of an entire planet, it should be able to work on more

First problem: Small map. The smaller the map, the closer your enemies start out. The whole game will be an exhausting battle of attrition. If you choose the most ginormic map available, you'll have more time to prepare your attacks/defences. For example, they might only be able to reach you because of some stupid little defenseless influence starbase in your area. Take it out and you'll be out of range. Then you can maneuver to strike their worlds. <p

I see. But I almost never reload, but I see it all the time. I was just hoping that there was a way to build as many ships as my spending/manufacturing capacity could afford. After all, if a colony is capable of 2,000+ bc per turn, why can't it build more than one 195 bc ship per turn? I can go through numerous research items in one turn, as many as I can afford. [e digicons]<_<[/e] Perhaps Stardock could make this a (virtual) reality since they're dumping Galciv 3 a

While at war, I'll wipe out all enemy ships, then park my warships next to each planet. With zero ships in orbit around their planets, one turn later they've go two warships and four freighters coming out of one planet. I don't see how they can do that. So if that is not a bug, someone tell me how to do that myself. Thanks all. [e digicons][/e]

I'm in that process now. I tried last night and my dupid internet connection died. Just installed DL, it runs, just installed DA, it runs, now I'm dl'ing TA. Based on the error report, I ran AVG's tune up to clear out registry errors. I think that was probably the cause. Maybe a full rereinstall would have cleared them up too. I don't know. I hope this works.

I originally bought Gold Edition, (Dread-Lords + Dark Avatar). I later downloaded TA. Then I bought a new lap top with Win 7 64. I installed Gold from the disk, then dl'd TA through impulse. But, impulse would not recognize that DL and DA had been installed. When trying to run TA, it would pop up saying that I needed to install the latest version of Dark Avatar, but it still ran TA after clicking OK on that dialog. But there were some graphical erro

Reply to Star Trek Mod in Modding

I downloaded it a couple of years ago for DA and it didn't work. However, I did copy some of the ship models over to the regular folder and it added them to the list of hulls I have to choose from. I just had to rename the .x files after the same vernacular as the native ones. If you find it, at least you can do that much.

Behold! The 119th Psalm: 1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. 2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. 3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. 4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. 5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!<br
