Good hint! Antializing caused the problems. Still I was curious why Antialising causes problems. I checked the drivers (which I installed a few weeks ago when I installed this system) and to my big surprise I had installed some outdated drivers. I have now installed the latest drivers from nvidia and now everything works great. I should have checked the drivers first...

More details: I downloaded Bink Player and played the movies in large windows without problems.

Startup screen and tutorial videos are sluggish in higher resolutions in Bug Reports GalCiv2 Forums

If I set resolution above 1024x768 or 1200x800 (Windowed because of dual monitor), in-game movies are very sluggish. The startup/intro movie before the main menu is interrupted about once a second. The same problem is with tutorial videos. It appears like the movie is being loaded too slowly from the disk, but HD led shows inactivity and CPU load is minimal. No symptoms of system overloading anywhere. I haven't even tried actual play yet. My system is Win 7 x64 ultimate, 4 GB RAM. Eve
