It is not possible, you always have to start a new game for a patch to work. Its a Galciv2 thing, not our mod thing.

You can not use old saved games - part of a GC2 issue, you'll have to start a new game:-( I'm sorry. Anytime you install a patch, or clean version, you have to start a new game for it to take affect.
The 700MB version has a few fixes that the other doesn't have that could prevent the game from crashing, as well as I have readjusted the remaining races so their ship hulls look similiar to the standard hulls they use, that way the starbases seem to match the race you choose to play. I'd say if you don't have a limit on how much you can download, remove the previous version from your Mod folder, download the new one, install the new one, then copy over
"Take a look at the post again. It explains what you need to do." ??? unrar the files using winrar to the C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Gfx\Models directory. Those are not instructions on how to use the ships, it only says where to copy the files. Complete instructions would have to include how to mod the correct files so that the models can be used as hulls. There r
UGLYCOW - Instead of saying things like that, why don't you give us some useful information. Critism is welcome here, but only when its done constructively. 1. Which version of the mod are you playing, DA, or DL. 2. Which version of either DA, or DL do you have? 3. The exact location that you placed the mod files..... Infact let me post here what a fan posted on our forum: Hello all, First off, let me state that I am
We will release a new version under "codename" StarTrek Beta Lite This version I've trimmed the fat so to speak. I've taken the movie files that were 680mb (thanks Spaxspore once again!) and managed to get them down to approximately 230mb. I've also been able to clear out approximately another 100mb of ship detail. With all the trimming I've done it will take the 1.2g beta and make it approximately 700mb. Great part about doing it this way is
great work Rav8! i love it
kodiak888 do you remember the screen name? For some reason it is appearing you are downloading the file completely, but it is because its ending prematurely or missing a file, I know this because it happened to me. One time I downloaded a file that said it was corrupt, another time I downloaded the file and it worked perfectly fine. I don't know how to explain this, but it was not an uploading issue, but a downloading issue, I don't know if its the server hiccuping, or connections hiccu
Han - I know not everyone knows how to mod so yeah and whatever - but thank you for trying at least to be nice and give people ships. Lets not forget manners people. He provided everyone with something. If it wasn't good enough, you didn't have to use it, or could politely ask how to install correctly. A PLEASE AND THANK YOU GOES A LONG WAY.
BUG FOR SHIP HULLS NOT APPEARING: If you click on the "APPEARANCE" Tab after selecting your race the following happens, this is a hardcoded bug, we can not change this, it would have to change in the programming. I have confirmed that this is indeed the bug. It creates a CUSTOMRACEXML file automatically that has the ModuleStyle set to 0 - since NO race in the game uses ModuleStyle 0 - it makes it so no hulls are useable. but if you have NotePad (or any text editor) yo

I know, but I'm 100% sure that it is changing it. I have some of the races set to use S33 - if you click on the Appearance Tab when selecting your race, it creates a CustomRaceXML file in the MyGames\GC2DarkAvatar folder and that file has the module style set to 0 - I have tried this several times, and made sure that the mile in the base/original raceconfig file for the mod is set to 33 (or the respective choice)
Hi, Can someone help me understand how to get by the fact that if you click on a customization tab in DA it automatically creates a CustomRaceXML file, this file then changes the module style of the race to 0 so in that file it states 0 which then makes it so you can't use a ship hull, and we can't make all the ships use Module style 0. A developers reply would be greatly appreciated.
pyriel2005 - delete the race config files again, reinstall and choose a race without choosing any of the customization tabs - for some reason this creates a new raceconfig with the default module style of 30 which inturn makes hulls unuseable
what name did you sign up with on our forums?
I am interested in removing the standard ship templates out of the loop for my mod, I don't want people to be able to select them, yet instead to select the ones we created, can this be done? If so how?
ugh you may laugh there are plenty of players who will not know where to put the download! Install instructions in any mod are really a must. Dregin, its an inside joke between Han891 and myself, we both work on the StarTrek Mod and chat quite frequently, wasn't meant to be insulting in anyway, just to make Han chuckle and maybe to call me a bad name or two under his breath <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 alig
ahh, thanks
Pyriel2005 - please check our forum - we are having people start to say it is working with varying reasons behind why.... I am looking into it, but I can tell you the mod does work, prior to releasing I uploaded the mod, deleted my mod and reinstalled it using the files I downloaded.... Please be sure to place the fix into the following file: C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Mods\StarTrekBetaV4_DA\Data\ShipStyles and overwrite all those files...
Eye of the Universe - PLEASE...Make it so after building the Eye of the Universe you not only see a signal on the mini-map, but you see it on the real map even if its in Fog of War - I don't think you should see an actual ship, but atleast the same symbol the ship would use if you were scrolled out far enough. On a gigantic map (okay on most maps), its kind of useless with Eye of the Universe because its a pain to see ships out in the darkness unless you zoom into the mini-map to see their locat

Darthfalz - I'm not sure, we uploaded and downloaded the mod ourselves and reinstalled it to make sure errors like that didn't happen. My suggestion would be to review the WinRar extraction, and see which part contains that file, and then redownload only that part.
Did you delete the raceconfig files and start a new game? I know for a fact the fix will make it work as long as you do that. I also activated your account to the forum.
thanks kryo, two questions AFAIK? IIRC?
What determines the size of a ship model in DA? I heard somewhere that by naming certain files certain ways, you can automatically correct the size of the ship no matter what the size of the original model is, is this correct? If so, what needs to be renamed? Any and all help will be appreciated.
