If you disband and move just one ship in the fleet, go to its upgrade screen, and check the upgrade all box then all ships of that type (including the fleeted ships) will upgrade. Now if you just want to upgrade that one particular fleet and not all ships of that type...well like you said, you have to disband, unstack and upgrade individually. Pain in the butt ain't it? One of my pet peeves as well.

Well, at least now I know I'm right. I suspect that the reason the economy is set up this way is one of the following: Possibility a: The factory began as THE production facility for all Mil, Soc, and Rsch output so having all the sliders add to 100% made sense. However, that was too simple of an economy so they broke out the research and created the labs, but left the sliders as they were. Possibility b: The economy was set up as I suggested, but it creat
This has been bugging me for a while now, but it especially bothers me after last night's potential spending spree. I had a economic boom event last night and I'm generating about 1000BC per wk (tax rate around 35%, spending slider at 100%). If I still have excess income then how could I be spending 100%? I mean if I've got 15%Social, 15%Military, and 70% Research then none of those areas is maxed out and more money could be spent. The solution I'm leaning towards (an
Each game certainly has its pros and cons. Right now I lean toward GalCiv2, but I still consider Civ4 a high quality game. Below are the categories/reasons in which I think each is superior. Civ4: Civilopedia, economy/production model, resource trading, animation, sound track, exploration period more fun, research tree more realistic (due to the interlacing of techs & bonuses), government pros & cons GalCiv2: AI !!!! (Civ is such a cheater), personalization of units/rac
Besides the factory thing, the AI also doesn't seem to make good use of high PQ planets either. In my current game, I just conquered 3 high PQ planets from the Drengin (2 w/base PQ of 16, 1 w/base PQ of 15) which at most had built on only 4 squares. If the AI is going to pick a fight with me, the least it can do is properly prep its planets for my future conquest and use.
Never really had any real problems with this level, but here are some things that might help. 1) Keep your allies up to date with all the technologies that you research. Remember, they're your allies so it's not like these techs will be used against you. This also helps your allies serve as a stronger buffer (buys you time to build up your forces so you can mow over the DLs later. 2) With the DLs, early on you can't match them ship vs ship so make sure you research speed
Had this happen to me a few days ago (PQ +9 w/in 2pc radius). It upgraded between 15 and 20 planets. It couldn't have happened at a better time since I think the Korx are getting ready to come for me and I can use the extra econ/production. But I can understand the argument that this event can be too powerful. It should have a scaled effect based on the size of your galaxy. So a tiny galaxy might have one star system upgraded; a gigant
I've had NLC researched for several turns now. I'll try the manual upgrade tonight, but I doubt that's the problem since I can't even build an NLC on an empty space.
I've been playing for about a 2 weeks now. Having read the praises of the NLC in other posts, I decided to align neutral and research for that tech in my current game. Well, I've done both of those things, but the NLC isn't available in my build lists. Am I missing another prerequisite to access this building or have I hit upon a known bug? Thx
