Starship troopers is a good movie if it's not taken to be well modeled after the book. The book is actually kind of depressing since the bugs are basically kicking the humans' asses. I enjoyed both, but I read the book after so maybe that's why I still like the movie. That and Denise Richards was sooo hot back in the day, before she got violated by that idiot hooker-banger charlie sheen.

Saw them live last night in Western NY. Totally awesome show. One of my all time favorite bands. Well worth the $45 ticket and 1.25 hour drive each way.
Setting anomalies to rare affects quantity of those resources too?
Bush didn't come up with Strategery. It was an SNL joke involving Will Ferrell. Bush thought it was funny so he named his White House situation room "The Strategery Room" in honor of the skit.
Which is why New Hampshire is awsome.
Never been there, but they have the best state slogan hands down.
They specifically disliked a certain race, I’m not naming names here but they were specifically worried about the domination of giant pussy cats.
rofl. Also note that there is no mention of even attempting to defeat the empire that personifies evil galactic domination.
I would really like to have a "research queue" and "build ship queue".
This is a great idea. I concur on both points.
Pathfinding should take into account ASTEROID fields or other areas
Not always, but often I will move a ship, and it will go into an asteroid and get its movement down to 1 for that turn. That can hurt in a crucial battle, especially when it's a troop ship.
[espionage], barely even use it now, for a fe
Build and maintain a robust and competitive military. The AI preys upon you if you aren't keeping up or staying ahead.
There isn't a slider that dictates the frequency of occurrence for these. I recommended this to be put in when Frogboy asked what players wanted added, but it wasn't put in. I think it'd be a solid addition that would add customization value, but I'm just some random douche, so who knows :D
That's weird because I can't recall my PQ4 ever stopping before it hit 8. Apparently I just didn't notice, or terraformed it and it increased. That wiki is very handy. Thank you kitty. Here's a Pounce treat ;)
That's weird. That has never happened before. Also, after a few turns, it started up again normally and is now the full 8 billion. Wacky stuff.
Several turns later, it has not moved. This is costing me money sigh. I was tempted to give the planet to another race for some sick tech, but I can't get barely anything for it.
omg 700% influence tiles would be ridiculous lol
On my 2nd home system planet, I have 100% approval and super breeder going on it. But the population is frozen at 2.546 billion. I click turn, it doesn't change. My other planets increased and are full. This one is stuck there. How do I fix this? Or am I basically boned?
The Iconians have a weak economy
You gotta admit that 50% econ bonus 1 per planet structure is delicious. What I like doing is being Torians and tech trading that. mmmm income.
Even suicidal is a breeze.
Heh. Perhaps for you. I'm working on obscene right now. I've won my first now I gotta repeat. I think I can work my way to suicidal though.
I have realized that in TA, when you're doing the initial colony rush, many times it's best to build nothing until the population gets to like 3 or 4 billion, that way the spending and maintenance costs are offset by the tax revenue. This wasn't as much of an issue in DL or DA, but in TA it's big. Also being Torians is great cuz you keep your approval at 100% and the population EXPLOOOOODES. It's frickin great. You fill your 8bil populations so damn fast and have lots of tasty tax reve
It also depends on how good or evil you are when you make the choice. For example, If you're extremely good, and you decide to do something bad, you move more on the slider than if you were neutral and did something bad.
No diplomacy bonus is given for this. Doing this has other advantages but no improved relations result from it.
I am fairly certain that it does not scale with map size.
Is trade more lucrative in larger sized galaxies? Because in the medium ones I play often, Trade is essentially useless except perhaps very early to balance out early losses before income streams manifest (which I rarely do because the production required to make these ships could go to other improvements or research) or for relations purposes (which at the obscene level I play at, everyone hates me all the time anyway, and even if they do like me, they can still make war with me at the drop of
Oh yeah, thats a great movie. I didnt remember that particular quote though.
To be fair, I can recite the whole thing from beginning to end heh. OT, but check this out. I did an obscene game, medium galaxy, 7 opponents. I was Krynn, and started with 700% and 100% industry tiles on my homeworld. AND I BLEW IT. ARRRRG. I got bogged down in a vicious fight with the thalans, and even though I had both treaties with the Korath, they declared war on me anyway
Who said "chinaman"? I dont see that anywhere in the thread. In any case, maybe they meant cinnamon?
You've never seen The Big Lebowski? Get up out of your cat pan and watch it sometime.
Your cooperation involves you accepting your fate and being devoured by EVIL. :)
It's about drawing a line in the sand Dude. Across this line, YOU DO NOT... also Dude, Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian American please.
I've noticed that this happens with minor races quite often, them having 999999 influence on their planet. I haven't seen it with major races. Doesn't seem to affect them at all. Just somethin weird that's happening.
