drakonfire, are you changing your tax rates appropriately? You can get higher morale by doing that. If your econ is a problem with lower taxes, then did you build the Yes, having uncommon stuff in a small galaxy makes 2 or three planets not so bad. I had a game where everyone only had their home planets and extra system planets if there were any. That was a fun game!

I was under the impression that the actual building was meaningless, that once it was built that race acquires the trade good, which is independent of the building. I don't know about nullifying trade good buildings with spies, but if you do take the building, they lose it and you gain it. So I'd assume you can nullify them with spies and that it does work. I have used it on Tir Quan and have seen a difference, BTW.
too bad i cant do it to the minors. Wouldn't matter much, because in DA the capitals have a 16 billion population anyway.
When I visited Turkey, I went to Canakkale, where Ataturk as a young officer led his terribly undermatched troops against the British forces invading Turkey. Unfortunately, he had a massive positional advantage, and the British forces (led by English) had the huge disadvantage of horrible, stubborn leaders. As I learned there, Australians made up a large amount of the troops, and they were butchered. There's a shrine there built by Ataturk much later. I met many Australian tourists, visiting
I'm here, but I don't usually post in threads like this. I joined this empire originally because Alex sent me an email, no other reason. I enjoyed the fact that this empire shot up quickly, but I don't particularly care about its fate at this point. Is this what happened to Rome? People just began to lose interest?
That's the new DA capital default population. I'm not sure what patch of DA made that happen, but if you're up to date, then that's the answer. It shouldn't be much of a problem, though, because the capital has a morale bonus for PQ (at least, if not more). But if it's a major problem, build a political capital. I'm not sure what settings you're using, but if you only have two planets, and Mars is one of them, then the game is probably lost.
OK, so I'm playing nice with a couple of pretty powerful AI's who are asking me often for money to help their war effort. They're both Friendly with me, and not asking for much relative to my economy, so I don't care to hand over some cash now and then. Suddenly, though, both of them come back at me with the reply, "Way to go, cheese eating surrender monkey!" What a damned insult! After that diplomatic slap in the face, it became my sole priority to take both of them down, not merely
but at least you all kn ow when to listen and not talk Ah, you have no idea how much talking is going on in our private thread! Prepare to be outstrategized, outplayed, outperformed, and finally outteched <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Congra
4. The more planets you explore, the higher your intelligence level. Gaining intelligence in a larger civilization becomes much more difficult than a smaller civilization. I generally like your ideas about spying. But this last one isn't in accord with reality, oddly enough. If we look at analogies in real life, it's actually much harder to spy on smaller countries than on larger ones. Look at how little is known about North Korea, even by the So
'randomize intelligence' I always use it and haven't had the problem.
Wow, now the Wii has its first action/RPG! Call for Heroes: Pompolic Wars. It looks awesome: WWW Link
TP Scot, that one's great! I've got to send it to my religious friends.
Piznit, are you registered yet? Once you are, I think we're all set for a private forum. It's probably time to get strategizing as one team has already submitted a score (one that's about 1000 points above mine, btw!).
dr, isn't PQ bonus a problem in DA? I haven't personally taken it, but I've heard that if you choose it, you might not find any PQ1 planets. And, as I'm sure you know, those will be some of the best in the later game. Anyone know how this works?
In my last game, I was colonizing a class 1 planet late in the game, after I had researched habitat improvement to make it worthwhile. I used a colony pod plus two advanced troops pods to get the colony going. It's a good strategy in very limited circumstances.
I am playing the latest version of DA. I think it is 1.61. Well, then let's see if anyone else who's playing the latest DA finds the same problem. I personally haven't, but I also haven't hit ctrl-N all that often. I do use it now and again, though. BTW whatever happened to 1.7? Nothing yet. It doesn't officially exist. Have a touch of patience! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL
Yeah, I'd think the original poster isn't updated, at least if he's playing DA. I'm not sure of this bug's status in DL.
I'd also like to see a System Shock 3 BioShock is going to be its spiritual successor. But, yeah, I'd love to see an actual System Shock 3. I'm afraid it's never going to happen, though.
Yes, you can get SR2 through Stardock now. That's how I got it. Awesome game.
Thanks, Adder. It sounds like you know the Core much more than I do (I've hardly been there myself). Therefore, I would like to nominate you as captain. I think overseeing our forum will be the captain's main duties. Now and again we'll need to figure out who should shoot for which victory, but it sounds to me like you're much better with web/computers/Core than I am. Please let me know if you have any reservations about being captain. When we're all registered at the Core, could y
Mumblefratz just said in another thread that we can have a private forum at the Galactic Core, but it's much easier to set it up once we're all registered. I'm registered so far, so I'm asking whether you other three are. Once you are, I'll start the process to get us a private forum.
Τῶν αγώνων ἄρξασθε certamina ineamus!
Thanks for the vote, Adder. Once Fall comes, though, I won't have a whole lot of time. But I don't expect being a captain to take too much time. If anyone else would at all like to do it, please speak up. I don't particularly care one way or the other, and so it might be better to have a captain who actually wanted to be one
Any game recommendations for those of us who will be using the coupon? I don't know much about any of the others on Stardock's list... I enjoyed Space Rangers 2 for at least a month!!! It's a very unique game.
