Been playing as much as I can but have never done anything with Metaverse. Any advice before I try my first Metaverse game? Thanks, Devast

How about an upgrade for your starport that gives you defense against ships. Added bonus/penalty could be that if they overcome it the starport is destroyed so it needs to be rebuilt from scratch. Devast
One thing that has worked for me is taking a big boost in population growth and a soldiering boost combined with rush buying factories and labs with a huge push on tech so I can get more soldiering boosts. I have fought off 5 or so DL planet invasions on tough setting in one mission.
Nevermind, I figured out what you were talking about? Thanks
Ok, I have a question. How are you keeping your colonies happy with large populations and still have a useful tax rate. I usually struggle to keep large colonies out of the red approval wise. Thanks, Devast
I have had this problem as well, exact same huge list of errors.
I have a similar problem with none of my constructors after they are first launched able to move more than 9, and there has been no UP resolution.
Ok, working on editing down in stages. For various reasons I can not upgrade to XP right now so, got to do what I can. Was able to keep it from crashing by saving every turn, will mess with the autosave and see how many turns between saves I can do and still keep it running.
Ok, forgive the huge post but here is my debug.err Can't seem to play more than a turn or two sometimes Debug Message: Version v1.1 BETA-3 last updated on: Thu Apr 6 14:45:50 2006 Debug Message: Could not find a TGN Serial No. Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.********* System Info Time: 4/12/2006, 21:26:10 DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Machine Name: Computer Operating System: Windows 98 (4.10, Build 2222) A

How should guard work? It doesn't seem to do much now. Below is what I would like either guard or some new command to cause happen. I want something that will make my fleet interecept fleets moving to attack my base or planets, when possible. May make ship movement determination more complicated but if my ship(s) can get to a location before or at the same time an enemy ship does it should be able to intercept the attacking fleet.
I read about being able to 'not' remove components from a ship when designing the update in the shipyard so I hunted for this option and deselected the remove components in my current game. When I then tried to update a design there were no components(functional or appearance) listed, most of the ship space was used (not all since I had gotten a miniaturization tech since initial design), and I could not remove anything. I then reselected
Ok, according to dxdiag I have directx9.0c on this machine and everything seems ok except AGP Texture Acceleration is not available. Is this why GCII won't work on this machine or should I keep digging? Thanks
Thanks for the link to the newer drivers and have tried them and changing resolutions, no luck. But not a big deal since I did get it running on two other machines, one a windows98 with good video card so have been able to play and just may have to buy. Also, the game does not even start in windowed mode on this machine.
Thank you very much, will give it a try when i get back to that machine!
Is there a way to test Direct X9.0c compatiability, would like to know if that is the only problem or there is something else?
Video drivers are 8/2004, not that old, and they are the newest available, just updated them today.
Ok, tried to post this before and don't know where it went. I have tried the demo but it crashes and yes I did update my video drivers.
