KOTOR is also available as part of a 5-game Star Wars package for around $35 on the PC. That's how I got my copy of it. It also contains Jedi Knight 2, Republic Commando, and two other games. I believe one is a strategy game while the other may be another strategy game. It also includes a 14-day trial of Star Wars Online. I only played KOTOR though. I tried to play JK2, but FPS games from that era and earlier tended to give me major motion sickness, and they still do. I can handle the l
My previous thread was sarcasm, wise guy.To the rest of you, just because I stretch the truth with my opinion doesn't give you guys and excuse to lecture me. 'Nuff said.
Based upon your egotistic response to various posts and the structure of your posts, it seems likely that you misunderstand the word 'sarcasm' as well as the use of sarcasm. I have a fair eye at picking up on written sarcasm, but your collective posts contain no indication of such. Also, when yo
I think GE's OP is designed to be a little over the top. It's kinda hard to put into writing the subilties of the human language (Like sarcasm).Besides he does have a good point... Almost everyone here who has tried WoW has stated they became bored with it. So what is so special about it? Do people become so wrapped up in the perception that it's great because someone else said its great?
No, he's not trying to be sarcastic. Check his previous thread ranting against Blizz
I was wondering why the original poster was so biased... he's the one who started that thread attempting to get people to agree with him that Starcraft is a crap game, which it is not. I thought he just had an agenda against the game, but with this thread... it seems he's not a fan of Blizzard. Probably because Blizzard is apparently so "hyped up" and "mainstream" that it's "cooler" to knock against it. With that in mind, it would make sense to try and attack WoW since it would be the biggest ta
Yeah, both Bioware and Obsidian are good developers. The people at Obsidian are also talented programmers/designers/writers/etc. whom came from the former Black Isle development company. Although Obsidian hasn't had much leeway with their games, the stories have definitely been interesting. For some, it's hard to get into the games that have moral issues painted as just black and white, so the large amounts of grey area that Obsidian's stories work in is rather enjoyable, in my opinion. A lot of
I agree with everyone else that Starcraft deserves its high acclaim and praise. I remember eagerly awaiting its release back when it changed from "Warcraft-in-space" to the iteration of style and design that it is today. Although the comments that people have left so far have been relatively polite and well-structured for the most part, if you were to post that same statement in another forum, chances are that you would quickly be bombarded with multiple comments of n00b, troll, bot, etc. It's m
Yeah, it's probably an easy way to get freshly "spored" worlds from the Korath that way, since there's pretty much no population to speak of. I've only tried getting planets as the Terran Alliance though, so I'm not certain how it would be for another civ that doesn't have Super Diplomat.
Yeah, I too bought a bunch of planets off of a race that I had set to the highest level in resources and difficulty. It amazed me when they were willing to trade planets with only a few hundred million to a billion population for only a few techs. I guess it's one way to get an influence victory.
I usually use Mini-soldiers and Information Warfare as well, but... I may consider using the other techs if I feel that the planet might offset my economy too much. When it comes to transports, I prefer to make just one transport and then to send it off. So, I usually upgrade them to carry around 4000 troops, or more, if I can fit them on. Those designs usually start out slow, but increase in speed with the tech. It's useful for taking down those 12+ billion population planets.
When I first played against the Korath, I thought that their spore ships would only destroy the population and then leave the planet uninhabited and unclaimed, so I was surprised when I bought a few spore ships from them and tested them out for myself. It really is easier to invade with spore ships, but I suppose the downside that the developers intended for this ability was the need to research Toxic world colonization and the advanced version. Also, you'll start off with a very small populatio
I haven't had that happen with the Torians, BUT I have had the Torians turn EBIL!!!> and join me, playing as the Yor, for conquest of the galaxy. Although, they were defeated by the Thalan or Krynn later on.
I've had a minor race in one of my games expand as well. It happened when the Thalans declared war on the Scottlingas. The Scottlingas sent out their attack ships to clear out the nearby Thalan worlds and then they sent in the transports to take over two additional worlds. They stopped expanding after that, or maybe it was because they and the Thalans came to an agreement for peace. Anyway, that was interesting to see them expand.
Do the Dread Lords also appear if you pick 8 Minor Races? In a recent game that I started, but haven't played much, I chose 8 Minor Races and then while exploring I see a pink ship zooming around. I zoom in and lo and behold, it's a Dread Lord ship. I don't remember any Dread Lord event happening, so I just assumed that they were one of the "Minor Races". And yes, they have started to declare war on the other civs, mine included. I've never had them in another game before, but if they build up t
You might want to try a download manager then. That way, if a file is interrupted or stops downloading, you can continue the download from where it stopped. I didn't use one, but I did have redownload parts 5 and 6 because the downloads ended prematurely.
Yeah, one of the files probably ended prematurely. That happened to me while downloading numbers 5 and 6, so I had to re-download those before it would run. To check whether they were complete or not though, I just double-clicked on the files in question and they would give me the 'Unexpected end of archive' message if they were the offending file.
The Altarians are just bullies anyway. They seem to always start a war with me just because I don't have any military ships at the beginning of the game, but they start to think differently once my smaller fleets and ships start ripping into their larger fleets... and of course, once the transports start landing on their planets. The Altarians have always seemed quite aggressive for a "good" civilization. So... just start playing neutral or evil civilizations. The Altarians shouldn't come knocki
I've posted this problem on your forums now. That should keep things in more of a central location. I'm still not able to see any hulls besides the one I mentioned, even after doing as suggested. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong though.
I can't post in your forums yet, so I'll just post it here for the moment. Anyway, I downloaded that fix and reloaded the mod, but I still can't create any ships. The only hull I have available under 'New Ship' is that Large hull at 42HP. Are there supposed to be other hulls available? I don't know if it matters, but I was playing as Federation.
Hm, the mod is cool and all, but how am I supposed to design a ship or use the templates? There are no available ship designs, but when I click to use a template, the game CTD. I was checking this out in a game and I found that while the computer could create new ships just fine, I couldn't create any new ships for lack of a design. Also, when the computer attacked one of my ships, the game also crashed.
So if we didn't have the DL version, will the DA version be useable on both DA and DL, or will it only work with DA?
I noticed that some of the jewelry was uncentered as well, unless we're able to change the point in which the jewelry attaches to the ship designs now. Anyway, I noticed this when playing as the Yor and using the jewelry from their ship style. Some of the jewelry looks as though it should connect via the center, but it connects at the side instead.
Suh-Weet! I was going to join the chat and ask when we could download it, but this takes care of that.
Rather than lowering the taxes, you should search for the morale resources and upgrade them. If you don't have any, take out the ones that are owned by the Drengin. That'll be a huge blow to them, and if you have constructors readily available, build the starbases immediately and you'll quickly see the benefits from the morale resource. It'll take longer, but just go for the Conquest Victory.
Wow. Are there that many players that don't like the Altarians too? Their attitude usually annoys me during sandbox games. At first I thought that it would be the Drengin and Yor that will be destroyed, but... they're pretty much the bad guys in the GalCiv universe, so at least one of the two has to remain. It would make more sense for the allies of the Terrans to be destroyed during a desper
I only use high-speed cargo hulls as scouts, survey ships, and the like before I get Eyes of the Galaxy. After that, I just pump out the assault ships and transports. Of course, that doesn't really answer the original poster's question.
