Hello, hope i can help. When you say trade commodity, i assume you mean one of the trade goods like Diplomatic Translators or Micro Repair Bots. These have no bearing on the actually trade via ships in the game. These are for you to trade via the Foreign Relations screen when talking to another empire, or keep for your self. I never trade away Diplo Trans or Aphrodesiac. Onto trade via freighters. Once you research trade and get the freighter are you using the default ship or b

Yup i agree with drrider. I messed with this myself and saw nothing, the only conclusion was that it was what allowed access to the tech tree.

Also if I were to say that I'd be willing to participate I'd need to know what I was commiting to. It seems from neilo's proposal that I'd have to commit to play a game a week (although a small map size) for 12 weeks. That seems like a bit too much of a commitment. I would suggest that instead of an arbitary 12 week limit that this could be treated as an on-going event with published results at the end of each "round" and let it go for as long as there is interest. </d

Please forgive me if this is wrong, but i'm pretty sure i read in one of the other threads pertaining to this problem that, with the 32bit anything over 2gig was not used properly. Now i see you have Vista, is Vista 64 or 32? Apparently only the 64 bit Os's are using the extra memory properly also i think page file was affected too. Neilo, how do you have banners for 2 different empires? Am I reading them wrong? I'm mostly asking because I wouldn't mind participating in two myself. All you need do is go to your account and create another character, then find yourself an empire to join. Make sure you select your new character to join and not your main one.
