Nah IMO, i just dont think the current tech AI wise is enough to handle something like that... not without cheating... overly complicated. One of the great things of this game is its complex simplicity (hehe oxymoron i know) A detailed political system like that would make the game chug.. I prefer to think of the party system as it stands as a reflection of my personal (as in the leader of the civ) political standpoint.. i think that makes sense, i mean if im i

Ive tried a few different strategies now... military conquest (seems to be easiest way to get higher scores) , upping the difficulty level a little, influence/high pop. game (tho ended up winning a political victory with that one) yet my scores seem to be fairly consistant around 7000 - 9500 ect ect Wondering if their are any good metaverse players out there who could give me a few pointers how to up my score? I have no problem winning on tough and am about to graduate to the next lev
Do influence starbases increase my planets influence if i build them near my planets ie like an economy starbase? Im currently working on an influence victory and starbases have gotten expensive, wondering if i should continue placing them near my opponents or should i put one down near a large clump of high influence producing planets? Thanks!
*Happy Campers* are good for *squeezing* the *juice* It makes me so *Frumple*! Orz rock hard, i have a theroy that they are the Old Ones from SC3, (with all the squeezing the juice and all that) ... their ships are next to invincible too (in SC2/3 melee i mean..)
id say a race that is almost about to become immortal and beings of energy (ie gods) would be a massive cause for concern from every single race in the universe... such a race would very quickly dominate the universe which is why its a victory after all.. it just feels like their is no real challange to a tech victory and metaverse scoring i guess reflects it...
in expansion to the above i should also say that it was VERY easy... i would have thought the AI should recognise a player close to or on the path to tech victory and all gank.. i would have definitely been forced to change tactics if all or even a couple of civs had declared on me...
Last game i was playing Large map as the Korx... quickly i out paced all other civs after a quick invasion and was free to pursue whichever victory path i chose (perhaps except political, i was evil and everyone else bar the Yor were good)... Having not experianced the sweet taste of Immortality i chose a the Technological victory (i was also short on the time to conquer the galaxy, although my military was almost as big as every other civs combined.) very disapointed with
JamieKirby= The AI is gimped at normal i think only running at 75 % , so actually their expansion was slower than it was ment to be...
Yet fortunently for the Toro-Drengi Confederational Empire the Borg were no match for the newly developed Super Dupa Enhanced Rotten Carrot Cannon and the war was over quickly.
Why isnt my metaverse char displaying with medals and such? (if it is please disregard
dammit how do i get my char to post?
Im interested to know how the scoring works, so far ive just been going for conquest victories as i assume these give the highest points... sorry for not doing a search but i wanted to see if my metaverse char would post here too thanks for replying anyways
I find a big help to my early game (only playing on tough) is to get into military early even if its only 1 attack 0 defense 1 move per week deals...
Marcathonas Sending ships home when a base can only support a limited number of docked ships? Pnakotus If you could read properly i said upgrade on mass.. why should i have to disband my fleets and upgrade each ship individually? if there is a prompt that comes up automatically when i upgrade my ships in the ship designer its only come up periodically (i do recall seeing something like that but only got it by chance). I dont ca
Im playing the beta and i keep getting such messages... in the last game i played I had several races tell me that the military starbase in their territory was affecting our relations ect... the thing is the base was way at the back of my empire near no borders or other civs (remenant from an old invasion)... i scrapped it cos it wasnt needed anymore anyways, but still ....
I agree with Redshift8... 5 of out 5 for this game is VERY generous... Its a great game but has some major flaws mostly with the UI... however i can see what the reviewer is saying because when i first bought this game i probably would have given it a similar rating; and i LOVE TBS ... in fact after 5 hours of play i shelved it VERY disapointed... lucky i picked it up again... its a great game but probably has one of the worst UI's ive seen in a tbs ga
First win on challanging after reading your posts an average sorta start have certainly had better and worse... i played as drath legion and got a conquest victory, normal sized map 6 ai... i found the key difference is that i tech tradeded like mad early on, infact it kept my econ going (which is usually why i lose).. i usually have a massive tech lead even early on but with the trading i managed to keep my factories and reaserch bases pumping at 100%
Like the headline really I win really easy on Normal, and games only drag because i make them (i like long space opera games) ... wheras on challanging if i dont get an IDEAL start (ie in regards to starting position) the games are over fairly quickly with me being one of the early races out. I upgraded to 1.1 beta and its helped (no more micromanaging social military rates every couple of
Would definitely have to be the Arcanites, fkn hate those arrogant mofos.. they always seem to be ahead of me in either military, or influence and then when you declare on them they bring in everyone against me
Yeah turns out its just incredibly slow, but works fine... it would come up not responding but after a couple of minutes works .....
Great game! I was VERY disapointed at first as it seemed like 4x lite compared to the Moo series but after persevering with it ive been delighted with the deceptive depth the game has (and the AI which plays like a human at challanging!!!!) turns out a GREAT game!!!!! Hey one thing ive really noticed so far is noone has written a strategy guide I love those things especially for these k
What do you mean most "Newer" games dont support it. BS . This is the first game in a LONG time that doesnt support alt tabbing. really simple feature. doesnt take much to playtest this one.
I like to do more than one thing when playing... why cant i alt tab without the game crashing? Should be easy.
Anyone else finding that alt tabbing causes the game to crash? I really hate it when games cant handle such a simple procedure! Makes the game feel unpolished to me, i like to be able to do multiple things at once and really this should be remedied!
