I would live one life to see the power of nature, You have theorized about the next ten thousand years, most elegantly, But I think I would rather live through one storm than any conjecture relating to our possible future.

I've had a change of heart. Belief is very important to so many people that it can't be belittled. if i did so, then i will try to apologise. It can never be my place to demean or discourage anything that has true intrinsic value. I think that spirituality is necessary to some, and is also a basic human right. I am not conceding that religion has any rights not to be abused, That is purely conjecture and therefore at this time completely irrelevant. <br

I could stand in the heart of a hurricane. Sit on the crater's rim, watching the eruption engulf me. Be drawn up into the mouth of a tornado. If I only had the gift to survive such things. What an awesome life that would be. To witness nature, at it's most majestic and most powerful. If only.

I am so pissed off with the stupidity of some posters I need to insist, PLEASE, PRETTY FREAKING PLEASE search these on Google, before you get all pompous about the poor. Poverty, Economic slavery. child slavery. Third world debt. I would hope that you are intelligent enough to think of others. maybe find more important links, maybe even help out a little I'll take a bet that even the most pig headed can change If after t

Well you are always going to have "poor" people, because people measure their wellbeing relatively, not absolutely. Poor people from the U.S. probably still have top 20 or 25% standard of living all time easily Im absolutely certain you've never even met a poor American , but i bet you've driven through their neighbourhood once or twice. 20 to 25 percent. get your head out your ass and stop pretending everyones as wealthy as you and your rich m

yes, I'm in a hateful mood, this society sucks and were letting them give us reasons to hate. This society that we hold up as a bright light has no merit, no justice and no future unless we strive to make it so. the torture of anyone makes us pureile and loathsome It makes me so depressed, so frightened for my humamity that we abuse in our greed for fear, our need for superiority our need for our fake "well being". Nothing can save us, we are damned . ore western natur

you said they wouldn't treat a patient, let them feel a good knife wound and their credit card be lacking. I was first witness to a man with a major head wound in France. Blood pissing all over the road and the ambulance men just standing there asking if he had money, I screamed at them "help him" nothing then a few french people came around, I asked them, " why are you standing here, make them help him" One lady came up shouting at the medics and they mutt

Religion demands a challenge from life. just to agree, this challenge i forgive the people that subscribe to any god, It makes me think that some of us neee what god gives and blessed be for them. I just dont understand, reading so many paragraphs on this all i feel at best is ambivalence and worst total disregard. It is truly important the feeling that some people get and the connection o their God But i feel no joining , no need to enthuse and trust my soul. <

Better to drink beer in Hell than serve beer in Heaven. I hope God will let me into heaven. at least he'll be able to have a good debate on the nature of his existence on earth from me. I'm no yes man. I'm a total atheist, no devils advocate from me. " well ok, you do exist? yes that was a question." "Oh your god almighty, btw what do I call you. is god ok or is that just for the mortals" "cal me what you will" "ok God

Alice in Quantumland Hmm, nice argument on the physical, but It does suggest the possibility that nature of physics is far too complicated to be explained by even quantun physics, But i disagree, it's just a lack of understanding that keeps us distant. Every mew idea every new dimension is always explained away as the ultimate inextricability of natural orders, the universe and its beginning will always point to a creator , until we learn why not, then the goal will shift to a

In Australia i had to laugh when i saw a report on how women in Darwin had to travel hundreds of kilometers to Brisbane to have their babies. Why? Because women had sued doctors so much in Darwin that they simply refused to deliver any more babies! Why is this madness, cause they would have liked her to give birth on the street? If only i were allowed to say what i thought of them. Is it funny that an expectant mo

If that were true then what is our purpose of living? I think we are such as in life, God is in essence destined to create an order of man that challenges God In that we must become all that God gave us life for. I think that I might learn, My race learns and knows the nature of the universe is is a trick, is is a fantasy of God that we can only learn so much. or are we destined to be one with the universe and god Know all things. if not, why grant us the abilit

Has anyone got any thoughts of their own. Or are we merely to be guided by the ideas of others. This seems to be a debate on customary and accepted theology. What is the point of arguing some other thoughts that aren't yours. Should i quote "good will hunting" or do the theologists alone still beg eager for answers Marcus

religion states that the universe is infinite but we are to humble to behold. We can never look upon Gods creation and understand its true majesty. But what if we do, does that negate God? Some ppl think if we look before the "Big Bang" we will have "touched the hand of god" I disagree Even as an Atheist I believe the universe is far too convoluted for us as humans to fathom its nature as yet. Does that make me think of God? No. it

in the states I can be sued for pulling someone out of a burning car and injure their neck but I will probably get away with it unless I am a medical professional and actually trained to do so. That makes the law ten times more foolish to me. If you cry out is there a doctor in the house all the doctors run for the door. Is this a fact? or. Seriously, why isn't Dystopic Global Emperor? I am generally distrustful of anyone who says they are an atheist since they tend to have a "this is stupid" outlook on all religious and spiritual topics but you are constantly making informed, emotionally detached, Generally, you would be correct. Don't get me wrong, I think that when the people who believe in any god they chose, do so without interruption, I have ultimate respect f

I you don't know enough about stuff to even ask good questions. I agree, but my atheism has me curious, and I think it an important question to ask for my own self. I guess this is a little pompous, but ok. I've just started reading the threads. I am hoping to see some arguments that give me some insight into my own thoughts one way or the other. I admit, I am ignorant on this subject. Marcus

A perfect and omnipotent God will never torture someone for not believing in said god. this is a horrible argument, is god not perfect?, and has God not got ultimate wisdom and kindness? If so, why the torturous nature of hell and why all the threats for such a simple thing of non belief. I am an atheist, but if a God were to exist to me, this God must be free from petty vengeance and hatred. I could, maybe then, chose a god that has risen above these things.

I am not just playing word games here, I am a total athiest. I do not believe in any God, I know that I will not go to hell, it doesn't exist When I die, I will mearly "shut down" my brain will stop working, there is nothing to fear apart from the unpleasant fact of death itself, I hope it will be painless and quick. Thats all. Marcus.

I agree, but only fools would think that a law suit comes above life, I know our law is different in the UK and rightly so. It cannot be contemplated that any citizen trying to save a life can be seen as complicit in a death What fools thought of that law, what idiots uphold it, what morons. Marcus. PS, is death that expensive?
