Does the updated version on the SDC contains the mini-map patch? No. The minimap fix appeared to work for me, but of the two people who tried it so far, one of them e-mailed me back and said that the problem still existed. If you want to try an updated copy, you can try this link: http://sd.stardock.com/carielf/da_1_6c.zip <

You're supposed to copy the new files in the 1.6a zip file over to DA's folder and replace the ones that are there. Moot in any case though, as this update is now on SDC, so just grab it there and let it sort itself out Does the updated version on the SDC contains the mini-map patch? <a h
This is not possible to do 'safely' under standard GC2 as the AIs in metaverse games are based on the contents of the RaceConfig.xml file in the MetaverseData folder, which cannot be changed without getting a cheat flag. In DA though, you can simply edit your opponents at game creation and specify their colors the same as you do your own. thnx! I only play DA so i'll gonna try that! Thanks!
I never figured it out! How can I change the color scheme of the races? And does this disables me to send my scores to metaverse or will they be flaged at cheated because certain files are changed?
Its not running for me. I get an error message saying "This application has failed to start because d3dx9_27.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" Note: I am running Vista. You are missing one or more files of DirectX that is required by DA. Updating your direct X with the latest version should do the trick! Just update your direct X with the latest Microsoft DirectX
There is somewhere on this forum a beta-patch that patches this memory leak. I've downloaded and installed it and my game is running smooth on a P4, 2.8ghz, 1 gb without problems for more than 4 hours.
Well, in about 99,9% of the case you are right just to buy a illegal copy of a game. Unfortunately for you this game is the 0,1% you should buy. The game is great and the support from the creators is outstanding!
1.59.078? That is my version number of DA. Is that the latest beta?
*whoops*
Please, Kryo, anyone, tell me there is someway I can recover the 92% I had already downloaded for this application. Personally I'm surprised it kept anything between exiting and restarting SDC--as far as I knew it would only continue if SDC was kept open. Honestly, if you're in such a position that you can't reliably download it, I'd recommend just getting a disc sent or taking your laptop someplac
Running the game in Vista the performance is real bad. Since Vista takes a large part of the system memory the video memory seems sometimes insufficient to run te game even on low settings. Thank god, I still have a desktop pc
Update your video drivers to the latest available on ATI's website. If you still have the problem after that, try disabling anti-aliasing. It's less likely to be the problem, but you should also update your sound drivers from their manufacturer's site as well, as they're quite old. probably an integrated soundchip. They seldom update those so I quess that won't be the problem. Can it be a codec
Thnx for your replies! If I am able to get one (most of the time there are more customers than they have on sale) I will post my report here how it runs! I only play GC2 thus if I can run it at a decent speed I am more than content!
Tomorrow if I am lucky I will be able to buy a Aldi Laptop Specs: Windows Vista™ Home Premium Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Dual-Core Processor T2060 1024 MB DDR2-SDRAM S-ATA HD Will a GMA 950 enable me to play GC2:DA? I won't mind playing at the lowest settings as long as it will by playable!
I really like it!
Yeah, it is the time between turns! Early on in the game it just takes seconds, late in the game it takes about 30s-1min a turn!
I used to play GCII without much slow-down on a gigantic map but playing a gigantic map in DA seems to cause more slow-down and feels laggy. Does a DA game requires more RAM than a standard GCII game? My specs p4 2.8 ghz HT 1024 mb RAM Ati 9800 se
Correct me if I am wrong but wasnt this game originally released in russian by a russian company? I thought there were a lot more patches for the russian edition than for the english edition and somehow that patches never were released for the english edition. Therefore the russian edition was more tweaked, fine-tuned and less buggy. Now stardock seems te be the one that (re)release this game this time, will this mean that the english edition will receive the same patches the russian edition alr
You guys are great! Mistakes can happen but the speed in which you brought a new patch to fix it is awesome! Man, I wish every gamedeveloper had the speed, dedication and belief in their own product as you guys. Stardock for President!
Actually, I like the very unbalanced galaxies! It makes it more fun if you have an unfair advantage and it makes it also more fun when you have a disadvantage cos than you have to think twice as hard It is a win-win situation!
Argghh Matey! I am a pirate. I never heard of the game Galciv 2 but I downloaded an illegal version of the game. (copy-right protected or not, eventually you can play them all with or without crack). The game was great, the way this game is supported by their creators is even better. So I decided to buy a genuine copy. It is not that I am a hardcore pirate. It is more that €20,- is too much money to spend on a game I'll play only for a day or so.
Hey don't complain about this server. They have it since 1852 and never had any problems before!
Brad makes the comment in his post-mortem that he wants GalCiv2 to be the kind of game the you could buy and play two years from now. But I can tell you one thing: without m/p, there is no way I'll be playing GalCiv2 in two years. Frankly, I won't be playing it in two weeks. Without m/p, my interest in playing it past the review
You cannot select build "NOTHING" from the build-queue on the main star-map. It doesn't work anymore, so every time you want to idle a starport you need to open the planet, and do it in the shipyard screen Very annoying, and is new with Beta 4. Same here. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc
Never noticed it but good it will be fixed in the final v1.1 patch
