About the only good thing I can think of to come from this is maybe they'll layoff some extra lawyers. (smacks self upside the head) No, of course they won't, what am I thinking?!

Those are too easy. I was thinking more along the lines of a "suicide by cop" scenario, where you provoke another civilization into attacking you, giving them invasion tech if they don't already have it.

"Us do opposite of all Earthly things! Us hate beauty! Us love ugliness! Is big crime to make anything perfect on Bizarro World!" -- The Bizarro Code. What would one have to do to earn a Year Zero Loss? Of course, using the Surrender button would be cheating.

I've played the Yor as a good race before; it was funny that it took the AI's a long time to be convinced of my sincerity after declaring for Good with the ethics tech. heh.

I wouldn't mind reading some Year Zero AARs.

Instead of trying to mess with huge amounts of system ram, just get a solid state SATA drive and assign it to host your Windows page file. That won't break you through the max size wall, but will help performance on gargantuan maps, right up to the point where you crash to desktop....

This issue has persisted through all the beta releases since then; whenever a new beta is released, I check it by loading the saved game that I submitted to Support to see if I can terrorform the Korx home system without it crashing. No joy so far.

Turn mega events off? Not good enough. We need more options. 1. Button that turns off unfun mega events. 2. Button that configures the list of unfun mega events. or, more simply, 3. On/off buttons for all of the mega events.

Or select the offending SB on the map click an option to send a demand to the AI to remove that specific SB. It might be a pain to have to do that to an entire SB cloud, though.
To go with the Mobsters and Thugs I also built tons of Minions. A Minion was a tiny fighter with no guns and all engines. These suckers had 13 move, and would "pack up" around my fleets. Basically, for a fleet of 10 mediums I would also send maybe two dozen Minions. They would sit three to a square in the 8 squares around my fleet not in fleets themselves. Each one of those tiny fighters would soak up an entire move of those 5k Yor fleets.
Oh, man, I've got to try this...

When I have extra colony ships (after sending a stream of them to a single colony, for example) I really don't like having to murder one million of my citizens just to take the colony ship out of orbit to make it eligible for destruction (so that I no longer have to pay maintenance for it).
Nope, it's both single and multiplayer.
Good. I'd rather be a solo player, as I'd prefer to avoid teenyboppers bellowing obscenities at each other in leetspeak.

"Never" also doesn't actually mean "never" if you get lucky with exploring anomalies that temporarily boost the research of your current tech. I don't think that is a bug. If research isn't being funded and the current tech shows "never", one of the researchers can still wake up in the middle of the night, scribble something on a pad of paper, go back to sleep, and wake up the next day to see the solution seed written out. It happens. I'm satisfied that the game mechanic sufficiently co

The problem with turning off mega events is the "throwing out the baby with the bathwater" thing. There are plenty of mega events that don't actually suck and instead make things more interesting.
I kind of wish that Minors would just get a "minor race tech tree" that doesn't give them access to any unique/race-specific techs and does not include any of: Deeper Knowledge, Galactic Understanding, Near Omniscience, Beyond Mortality, Technology Victory
I think at the very least, the Dark Yor tech tree should be similar to the Yor tech tree; other minor's tech trees could be plausibly dominated by their assumed good to evil alignment.

I find it interesting to note that the first, most easily obtainable regular planetary improvement available to the Thalans is the simple Embassy. heh.

Problem is reproducible under Beta 4 from the same savegame as the one I submitted (break Korx alliance, Terrorform Korx homeworld system). Choosing to start the war by terrorforming other Korx stars doesn't crash, just when destroying the Korx capital star system. I wonder if it has something to do with the Korx having to choose a new civ capital after the first one is destroyed? Hmmm....

I dunno, maybe you have to buy the ship yourself and park it right next to the target planet and then sell it to the minor to give them the big hint that they should do something about it (leading a horse to water, etc.) heh.

Do they kick students out of class for having laptops that are too loud these days? Anyway, I'd recommend a cooling platform. It will keep your thighs from being baked.
