with 25 billion population planets, 4-5 moral boosters, and stock exchanges, i usualy have no problem with those huge money sinks. You just have to research that farm tech and keep your populations high and happy and you will have no problem afording this. (moral +20 and reproduction +70 for custom bonuses dont hurt either

planet price is a combination of buildings, planet quality, and population size, along with a few more things (never looked at the code, so i dont know) but conquering a planet then selling it right away (just like dbz Saiyans) isnt that profitable because you just spent: XXX bc in troop transports XX billion people as troops in conquering the planet
size 4 planet, only thing it is good for is: one farm, one econ building, one moral building (use your surplus $$ from other econ planets to buy this so it doesnt take 200 turns to build, and focus on social spending) 4th tile taken up by coloney center. this is if there are no bonuses on this planet. What this will do is grow the population to 10 billion, and provide taxes with a decent moral rate. You physicaly cant make anything less than a class 1
i've got a current game where the lead AI has the same tech as me, HAD the biggest empire, 300 military rating, economy, and 25% of a gigantic size map. trans-warp 3 has been researched a long time ago, yet the AI still only puts 1 engine on each of its ships, and 4 sensors with 4 extend range with 1 or 2 weapons. I cant figure that out, because i have a minimum of 4 engines on any of my ships with a single range extender and the rest is weapons. needless to say, i allied the 2nd, 3
this fits very well with the snathi (the squirles), i would love to see this in-game
take these concepts from this idea: travel speed is instant between 2 set points tech to build this is high-end and expencive (to both build and use, a BC cost per ship sent through based on ship size) and add to this: if it can be built, it can be destroyed a 4th type of space station would fit the role of super-gate, with size limited by a tech of what size ships could pass through it.
mostly, they saw the game as civ4 in space with Many different aliens, no end to customization, and a ship builder that will fulfill your hearts desire. and you could choose between political, economic, cultural, and military conquest on the galaxy (and all are equaly viable) and they said all this in 3-4 minutes of a review
very cool story, i havent ventured above normal difficulty yet (also owning real hard, so i'll give it a try sometime next week) and stories like this are awesome
my main intent was to add a way to increase ship cargo size (at a large price increase) so if you fall behind in hull size tech, you can still put up a fight (but pay through the teeth for it) my intent on how the pods would work: (base cargo size + cargo pod size) * minitureization tech bonus= usable cargo size minitureization provides a bonus permenently to all ships designed, while this would add size to a ship at
An idea for a ship component: +10 max cargo size (or the name of the max size for ship components) as an attachment for 50bc it could be linked to hull design techs as an equipment pod, with higher cargo space and cost with each design level: +5 cargo/30bc +10 cargo/50bc +15 cargo/65bc +20 cargo/80bc +25 cargo/90bc basicly as the tech goes up, the cost of each cargo unit goes down, but ove
thanks for the link, guess my google keywords didnt turn up the right
