So what do you all think of the kids in the JFK control tower transmitting instructions to pilots? Is the FAA overreacting?

Lost, Caprica, Myth Busters, Glenn Beck, and the occasional movie. But 'TV' also means shows on Hulu or Watchtrek. Right now my 13 year old daughter is hooked on Star Trek (original), so we watch a few episodes around dinner time. Before that was the first 5 seasons of Lost to get her ready for the final season, and before that was Babylon 5. If you like Star Trek, check out www.watchtrek.com. All flavors, all episodes (but several links are currently broken, which they are fi

Oh and anyways: great job with choosing the components, as it's not an overkill with the CPU being not THAT expensive, but you won't notice it being any slower; maybe you should cut the cost w/ a 1000W PSU... but well, the more the merrier
I'll mention the mouse to him, but I think he is set on the Sidewinder. And I don't want to cut corners with the PSU, as he may add a second vi
It sounds like you have several, but unrelated, problems. Exactly which forums are you talking about? The GalCiv2 forums have been up all along. Corrupt downloads can be caused by several things, not the least of which might be malware on your system. If you are having problems starting a GalCiv2 game, post the entire contents of the debug.err file into a reply.
You need to update your video drivers. And you should set the game to your desktop resolution.
Only time will tell, I guess. But by that time - we will all be dead and buried.

I don't forget. I know that fact. Even so, it changes nothing. There have been a few reports of higher than normal temps in the past months, but dozens of lower than normal. (at least, from what I have had access to) But while local weather does not necessarily equate to global climate - overall weather does equate to global climate. I find it rather funny that this article mentions 'scientists', but only re
My frustration with subsidizing boner meds is that it creates a disincentive for pharmaceuticals to spend their overhead on anything other than what are, in effect, luxury goods for the developed world. Not that they've ever had much incentive to do otherwise.
How would you change it? And, do you ever take advantage of those meds? If you were the head of a pharmco, what would you spend your overhead on?

Current Display Mode: 1600 x 900 (32 bit) (60Hz) Debug Message: Game Resolution: 1024 x 768 Driver Date: 7/27/2009 12:22:18 First and foremost... it's never a good idea to run a game at a different aspect ratio than your native monitor. And update those old video drivers. They are sure to cause problems. Set your game resolution to your desktop resolution of 1600x900 and see if that takes care of the problem. If not, post the new
The 5870 is nice. But for my nephew's current dream machine I opted for the 5970. Nearly as good as 2 5870's, but in a single slot with less cost than two 5870's. And he has the option of adding another. Here are the specs of his 'wish machine': Thermaltake Spedo VI9000 Intel Core i7-920 Kingston HyperX 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 MSI X58 Pro-E Thermaltake Toughpower W0133RU 1200W<b
That debug.err is from the original GC2, and it exited normally. If you are really running the game at 1024x768 using a desktop res of 1440x900, try setting the game to your widescreen res. Otherwise, post the debug just after a crash from whichever version you are using. That way we can see where the game is crashing.
Which SSD drive are you using?
Looks like a nice game. If they can keep that pricing they should have a hit.
Just a 'select all' and copy would do, before you hit Post Reply. If it hangs, do a refresh after a minute or so to see if it takes. If not. exit the browser and try again. Your copy will still be in the clipboard. I only post on the GalCiv2 site, but it is the same. Buggy and slow. I think they try to do too much with the fancy graphics, instead of simply going with a solid (and perhaps plain) website. I am less impressed with glitz, than I am with func
I can live with having to have the disk in the drive. I can live with having to type in a key code from the manual, but when it gets to the point of controlling how I play that is a step too far from me.
I agree. A key code is fine. It can only be registered to a single user, so updates can be controlled. And we all know that we need at least one update to get things working right. Having the disk in the drive is also fine, as long as I can send it in f

Hell, alot of hard working, trying their best in the American way to earn enough for the family to get ahead, but health insurance is not cheap and at a certain point families are avoiding buying medicine . Funny, but your dates do not match - nor do your percentages. Or have they changed that much between 2000 and 2002-2005? Or, are they weighted in some other way? I have recently gone through the U.S. (public funded) health care system. I would rate it as #1, in all respects. The WHO is as bad as the global warming alarmists. They pick the data that they want to show a certain thing. And we all know what is happening now on that front - the head of
You could put a starbase right next to the planet, but it wouldn't help if the enemy attacks your planet instead of the starbase. Place ships in orbit to block them, and have others nearby to respond in your next turn. It goes both ways, by the way. When you attack the AI planets, they are just as helpless.
Personally, I don't like cola drinks that much. The only exception being, with fried rice. I guess that has to do with my very first job. I was a delivery boy and dishwasher at a Chinese restaurant. I always had a bottle of Coke with my plate of chicken fried rice. Now, it has to be either Coke, or A&W with that fried rice. Students - never underestimate the impact of your first job. My first was as a lowly dishwasher, and delivery bo
If CO2 is an ever-increasingly major contributor to global warming, then the past 15 years should have seen the most dramatic rise in temps - also ever increasing to the present. No data-set shows that, except for the 'hockey-stick', that I have yet seen. The fact that some ice is still melting is not really a good indicator. It simply means that the earth has warmed to a point where a lot of the ice will melt. Mashadar, I really like how those a

I really don't see what the whole point of this thread is. Is it to argue a point (or points) from another thread? If so, why not do it there? Is it to rant about something on youtube? If so, why not do it there? You give no context or reason, much less a point. It seems, to me, to be nothing more than nonsense to the Nth degree. Make a POINT!!!
