Frogboy should change his piccy to the crazy frog lol

laughs maniacally at the words Euro and Vision.... What a load of crud - seriously - it should be banned - or the contestants should be put away - or shot. Where have all the good bands gone - even Bucks Fizz was better than the current crop.... I noticed that we even had a cr@ppy rap 'song' on this years one. Good grief almighty! I thought the Glam Rock from last year was quite funny! But then I like that sort of music, and I would rather see that th

I take your point, but Gamespot aren't always right, same for the rest of them... I have been playing games (computer and console) as long as I can remember, and as far as I am concerned, the graphics in this game could have been better..... The only reason my PC get stressed is because the game is doing so many things at one time.... Although, with 2GB of DDR2 RAM (running at 533MHz) and a PCI-E 256Mb Graphics card, it shouldn't be stressed at all.
Bah, I'm no good with these annoying programs....
I did something similar, although not as complex. Basically, I just made 3 techs to come after the good / evil tech... They show up in the tech tree connected to eachother, but because they are all linked to the good / evil tech, they'll only make a link to the actual branch when you select you alignment. Good - Vision of Utopia, Ideals of Utopia, Utopia Neutral - Vision of Neutrality, Ideals of Neutralility, Neutrality Evil, Vision of Tyranny, Ideals of Tyranny,
Why not have a look on the internet for a program called CookTop, which is what I use to edit the raceconfig, etc in the Data, English folder of the game.. I don't think theres anything else you need to be able to edit, is there?
I thought the speed decrease worked in the area of effect for a starbase! I'll have to check it... By the way, the only one I have tested is the 1st tech, so I know it worked on mine. If you want to see JUST how powerful a Starbase can be, try editing the race you use to have weapons and defence set to 1000 +, mhaa haa haa
I haven't tried to lower the speed to much, but I doubt you could make it go below the base speed, but then you COULD still do it that way, especially if you going against Dead Lords, it will slow them down enough for you to kill the bleeders. Anyway, heres the 3 Starbase modules I made for the game - you might want to fiddle with the cost, speed ability etc, to suit your own playing style. -StarbaseModule InternalName="Mine Field I"- -Name-Mine Field I-/Name-<
Which of these do you actually want to do? 1) Add another branch (i.e. a seperate line of research, not connected to the original tech tree) 2) Add to the actual base tech tree (i.e. having tech follow on from the pre-existing techs) 3) Make a whole new tech tree 1 & 2 are actually quite simple.... Mr. DM04 above gave me a link ----> Link All you really need to do is actually lo
How about looking at the Omega Ship Yard. I think thats the one that doubles HP of ships in orbit. You could copy and paste it, then turn it into a tech specific item, and change it from being a planetary Improvement Super Project to a normal building.
Oh yes, and if you want to make it available to all types of starbase, change the last piece of data (where it says Military) to Defense
As I said, leave it with me.... Heres your basic tech. 1) Open Notepad - or look for a program on the internet called Cooktop - it's a free xml file editor 2) Go to your Gal Civ 2 directory, go into data, English (or whatever language you installed) 3) Choose the Starbase Module file, and open it. 4) Copy this tech, and make sure all the tags are with it: the tags will be Mine Field I
And what about those people, like myself, who don't play multiplayer? I would have rather seen more sophisticated ship designs and customization..... I big it up to those people who can actually make mods of ship hulls etc, like Kyro. I'm no good at that area of modding. God knows what "Other" might be, but there we go. As to tactical battles, I agree somewhat. If it were to be done, and as an optional part to the game, then what would be the point..... If Sta
I wouldn't mind ship carriers.... I'd prefer to see ships that had the ability to act in a similar way to a Military Starbase (though with stunted abilities) or at least modules that will make a ship look like a carrier - i.e. some jewelary that look like decks - wide, narrow, whatever. Or, even some ship modules to allow for repair bonuses, as I am not sure if these can be modded in.... Now I've had the idea, I'm going to try it..... The Armour plate or PD module piece should do it
Wouldn't it just be a case of making a new Tech (say starbase fortification IV as an example), then finding the starbase module that slows the ship down, copy and paste it, then rename the copy to what you want, then change the penalty to 2, 3, 4 or even 5 or 6? It shouldn't be that hard.... I've never modded a game until this one, and I can't believe just how simple adding techs are to it, you only need to make sure you put all the tags in. I'll get back to you... if I do
With regards to this though... Maybe you could find a picture of an octupus, a squid or a cuttlefish... The Octopus has been observed to manipulate tools etc to open things. You could then make a gun tech that fires a corrosive ink at your enemies.
The reason 2 eyes, 1 nose, 1 mouth, 2 upper limbs and 2 lower limbs are so prevalent in Sci Fi etc, is based on the simple fact that Mother Nature, in so far as we know in our current technical, scientific knowledge, likes to be conservative it its approach to designing creatures. That is why everything that is classed as an animal of some sort is more or less symetrical. Plants aren't, because it's okay, but even then, they follow certain patterns. The only exception to the rule of
#6 - No, actually. I liked my character from fable, he was sure evil enough. 2 foot long horns, Red aura, Insects flying around, Murdered 156 civilians... My was that a fun day. Sadly, It's on my Xbox and i dunno how to get SS's there without modding it. Only 156 - I killed that many traders!!!!! PML - I probably killed about 400 civilians -
Hah - I got it working with version 1.2b or whatever the latest one is. Only problem is that when the starbase got to the end of its route (Ymir III, Drengin, class 26 - worth 123-125bc a turn - base rate) the game wouldn't do anything, it just sat there in mid endturn sequence. Oh yes, it only works if I actually click on the trade ship on its route and tell it to upgrade, it doesn't work when you tell the game to upgrade all the ships.
i had this as well.... I know from experience that sometimes you actually have to type the .jpg extension when resaving the image - I chose the same pic, so st3ro1ds isn't the only one with this problem
Has anyone heard or or used a program called Dark Matter? I found it looking for the program I used to use. heres a link to the Dark Matter site I found: Link I remember the program I used to use had loads of pre-designed ship parts, without the hard points etc... They were already textured etc, and you could move them about like in Blender, Wings 3D etc, and resize them etc. Its really starting to bug
How do you make a custom map? is there a a readme file by anyone who has done this?
No.... I haven't got that at all.... I've never had that. Anyone know why? - @ 21:05 I just saved all my stuff (the techs etc that I made) into notepad, for reintegration, as it turned out my game wasn't up to date... I apologize for saying it was... I now have the folder directory option available, and I will now be able to use the mod WOOT
Yes, this is a good question.... Let me see what I can do, even with my inexperience at modding I have found the files quite easy to add to.
