Was that with 100% spending on research as well?

Thanks for your comments. I hadn't really thought it through that far but I suppose the best thing would be to leave your ships dead in space until you secure fuel by fair means or foul. As for micromanagement when you do lose resources I guess it could be the ships furthest away from the captured planet that end up without fuel.
At the moment it's very simple to build ships. this is a great strength but after a while it becomes a bit dull. Q.Is there enough space for the 7th doom ray or not? A.Yes. Q.Can I afford the extra build time? A.Yes. Slap it on then. It would be interesting if you also had to research some kind of power plants for your ships. More advanced plants would be smaller and produce more power. It would give you something else to think about when designing.
It's the bit after all the planets are taken but before you roll out your military for the final clean up.
If you have 10 ships 5 of which are level 1 and 5 of which are level 10 the computer will always target the lower level ships because they have fewer hitpoints and are therefore more likely to be destroyed. That's why your high level ships avoid damage and you end up constantly replacing your low level ships.
In my experience you rarely need to build those super farms. Your infrastructure must be pretty good to give you a lead over the drengin in the first place. It might be time to switch your social spending to zero.
I'm pretty sure that'd make suicidal nearly impossible.
You'll be glad of the current trading system when you start playing masochistic or suicidal. It's the only way to keep up with AI research.
Yes. 1000 ml at 1.06gmg-1 = 1060 grams. 15% by weight so 0.15 x 1060 = 159g of sugar RMM of sugar = (12 x 12)+(11 x 16) + (22 x 1) = 342 number of males = mass/RMM = 159/342 = 0.4649 moles per litre congratulations. You can do chemistry +10% to research.
Seeing as entertainment buildings are less powerful in 1.3 it should be harder to get the high populations needed for mega scores on the metaverse. Are there any changes in 1.3 that can be taken advantage of to get higher scores?
It would be great if you could select your opponents ethical alignment in the same way you can alter their intelligence or relations with you. Some of the best games I've ever played are the ones where you get the change of alignment events and the saintly Drengin set off on a crusade to rid the galaxy of evil.
Thanks Master U. You don't have to worry about me sending you a virus. I wouldn't know how. The Galactic Empire website is very impressive, keep up the good work.
Since I've recently learned how to play and survive suicidal games I think I'm ready to join an empire but how do I know which one? There are dozens of empires out there some with only one member, some with hundreds but what makes some empires more popular that others? Does each empire have different rules regarding who can join and the way members have to play their games? I would be grateful if a representative of each empire would post something about their empire,
This is all a waste of time. Does anyone ever lose an election? I had it happen to me twice ever and I won power back at the next election. Seeing as one of the key aspects of the game is keeping morale high it makes it difficult to lose the election unless you're already in deep trouble. You'll almost never lose if your approval is above 70% it should be above 70 anyway or your population growth will stop or even reverse. It's worth reducing the tax rate, even if this means you're los
You can't do that directly but I've seen a class 26 reduced to a class 2 when the torians and the dreadlords kept attacking each other with mass drivers. You could fill a few transports with troops, conquer the planet using mass drivers, gift it back and attack again until the planet is basically useless. I think terror stars in DA will allow you to do a similar thing but I'm not 100% sure of that.
Thanks Meglobob. In my current game I set research to very fast and turned off tech victory condition. Hopefully this will minimise the number of turns when I'm at a tech disadvantage and after an hour or so all teams will be on an even footing shooting black holes at each other. I assume this mean it's impossible to win a tech victory on suicidal unless you crush your opposition down to 2-3 planets and reduce their research production to zero.
I meant precursor library in line 8, sorry.
I recently won my first suicidal game. I did it by putting most of my ability points into diplomacy, aggressively researching diplomacy techs, allying with anyone I could and trading for all the tech I needed. By not building research facilities I could have more factories and keep up with the AI manufacturing bonuses. It was a hollow victory though because I had to betray all my allies in turn, as soon as a civ lost the majority of their fleet I would swoop in with very fast
maybe I'll test it out on an old save game first. I'll let you know how it turns out
$3.60 a gallon! You cant even get LPG for that in the UK.
That's a shame. It would be great if minor races couldn't build colony ships and troop transports but could use them.
I've never had an ally break an alliance with me before but then again I've rarely been allied with someone massively more powerful than me. I could also manipulate the major races into allying with me after the minor race has declared war with them, that way I won't get dragged into the conflict. If I get those alliances and build the temple of empathy too I should get a lot of planets through surrenders. This game is likely to take a while to finish so I don't want to start it until
I have an idea for a game I want to try. The idea is to win a military victory without ever fighting or invading a planet. The basic idea would be to ally with a minor race and sponsor them by giving them all the tech and ships they need to systematically wipe out the rest of the major races. The problem is that I don't know if you have to destroy the minor race to win a military victory. Does anyone know if that is a condition for the military conquest. If not it'd still be c
I like the Idea of those hyper speed lanes. I magine seeing a huge fleet arrive escorting a constructor to your home planet and helplessly watching as they built a hypergate. It would be great if you could somehow take possesion of the gate and send your own troops back through the other way. I'd also like to see more random events like the pirates. It'd be great if enemies had to fight side by side to defeat a common foe. Say 20 dreadlord ships appear and the UP offer a reward to whoe
I'd get a ps3 for final fantasy 13. By then they'll be cheaper. Although the consoles are expensive what I object to most is spending £50 on a ps3 or xbox360 game when the same title is available on PC for £30.
