It is a fact that, sadly, PC gaming is on the verge of death. Fact??? Are you sure you know what that word means. I've been hearing console fanboys say that computer gaming is dying since Nintendo first came out. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-

What were the ships called in Legend of the Rangers?

it would be helpful if the default was to only select multiple groups by holding a shift key or something. That's the way I think it should be. Kind of annoying to have to click on a planet in between moving ships all the time.

If you were the computer, how would you counter that? I.e. think of the AI as a human player, what's the counter to a sudden, massive sneak attack? As already been stated, use sensor ships or scout ships so you see the build up, and strike at the transports with faster ships. I always try to be the one to attack first. I think the ga

I think the slower it takes to win the more points you get. Getting a quick win, doesn't get you many points. I think conquest victories also give you the most points.

I liked the economic and building system the original MOO used. Everything was done with slider bars. None of this Civ clone crap were you only build one building at a time, and can only have one of each type of building. I hate Civ because everyone copied its worst feature, and it's a feature that's there because it came from a boardgame. Lame.

Another reason you might want to consider colony ships instead of transports is that you have to pay ship mainenance for troop transports, but not for colony ships.

I agree. I try to conquer all his worlds in one turn. It usually works. The AI really needs to prepare for an attack before he declares war.

What a bunch of retarded noobs. I've seen the AI miss good planets at tough level. I've also never had a problem out colonizing the AI on tough. One game I played was tough A.I.s on a large map. I started at the bottom left corner and I got the last planet which was on the top right corner of the map. Non of the A.I.s even went for it. It was out of the way an by itself, but still within range of most of their colony ships. Seemed obvious

In the development journals, we talked about the goal of having the "intelligent" AI being able to beat 95% of players. I think we succeeded. In v1.1, our goal is to maintain that 95% (as people get better at the game some will eventually be able to beat the "intelligent" AI so we have to evolve with them). <br

So if you wasted 100BC on that technology, and sold it to all the other races for 1100BC, you just made 1000BC for free at his expense, since he would have made that money if he traded it away. Hence, the reason why you can beat an AI silly even while giving it a 200% economy bonus. This is why there was such a huge outcry for th

Lets think about it, One tile away from a planet is roughly 5 or so earth-masses away from the planet, Missiles cant go that far, Laser beams get dissapated in the atmosphere and mass drivers sure as hell cant make it that far. You'd better think a litte harder. Once fired they retain their speed in space and d

I found the computer easy to beat at all levels. Attack first, go after planets not fleets, and target all his planets at once. My wars usually last 1 turn. Then it's on to the next victim.

I use them with lots of engines to quickly take out unarmed enemies, never armed ships. I named my armed cargo ships Q-Ships. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q-Ship Auxiliary cruiser would be another good term. Link
