Warhammer 40k?

A game already exists like that and it uses a similar game "engine". It's called Civilization 4. Ever heared of it? It's only one of the most popular ever turn based games. Uhm, I *bought* the first version of Civ when it came out. So yes, I do know it. But civ is not lotr2. If you'd have played it you might have known that.
While once thinking about a game of GalCiv2 I remembered an old game I equally loved, Lords Of The Realm 2. Has the Stardock team ever thought of making a Medieval version of GalCiv2? The Medieval might lack the extensive tech tree but would offer crating new towns and like. One thing that might also work well in such a game (as well as galciv) would be to incorperated the threat of an empire breaking appart. Just some food for thought.
The Possibility to do something with the poor quality planets. Many would be habitable using pressure domes or like. Not to mention the resources you could get off of some of them. But only with technology so the colony rush at game start is not the only colonising one can do.
If I may use this topic for another suggestion: it would be great if we could see which starbase/miningbase we are expanding. Possibly a minimap in the dialog showing the position.
While having a lot of fun with this game, the selection is driving me mad! Often I will select a ship, then select another one somewhere else and when I then rightclick to move the 2nd ship, the 1st one moves as well. This becomes horribly annoying when either new ships are produced and/or the auto-focus on inactive ship happens. BTW: is there an option to turn off the auto-focus? If not, please create one.
Beware, it still might not work! I got the german version as well but installed it via the stardock software. Then I installed the bonus stuff and while I was trying to install the beta patch it told me a key was missing in the registry. Might or might not have something to do with it, but could also be caused by the system crash I had while playing the game. @Techtree: DE: Wäre schöner gewesen wenn die Ansicht vom Techbaum grösser wäre und/oder zoom-bar. I had a crash that totally locked up my system. Is the debug.err still written? I think it was firefox's forecast fox popup that caused the crash as it poped up right before the crash.
*bump* help!
I got my german version from amazon today but installed the english version instead due to the localization problems. The installation via stardock central worked great (might be good to tell people that after registering the game you need to restart the app) and then installed the collectors edition stuff: bonus pack & collectors edition stuff. They I started via the launcher and it was all fine. While running the game firefox seemed to caus
