Update Collectors Edition german version

Hi All.
Last Friday I received my german GalCivII version (collectors edition) from Amazon. After the Installation I spent more time in activation and registration procedures than in actual game play...and it's still not done:
These are my issues I had run into up to now.
1. I registered with a valid email adress and activated my collectors edition by going to the 'Downloads'-->'Collectors Edition Downloads'. There I had to type in the game serial and the collectos Ed. serial. A message window confirmed that all given information was valid...such as my email address, game serial and CE serial.
2. I was dissapointed after I downloaded the 'Collectors Edition Content'. On your webpage it said 'Run this setup program below to ENABLE IN-GAME COLLECTORS EDITION CONTENT and install the Galactic Civilizations II Desktop. You must have the latest version of the game installed (either via standalone update from GalCiv2.com or Stardock Central). ' But after downloading the package the setup routine told me that it will ONLY INSTALL A GALCIVII DESKTOP?! Is this all about the collectors Edition? I don't want another lame windows desktop....I want special game content!
3. I tried to download the Retail update since there's no update to v1.0X in the Collector-Edition-Download Section. But when clicking on the download button of the retail update I always get directed to the Collector-Edition-Download Section. But, again, there is no update available. I wouldn't care if my german version of GalCivII would turn into an english version!
4. I downloaded Stardock Central, hoping that this 'gadget' would update my game and because you say in your download-section, that Stardock Central enables one to download the english version of the game for free. I registering at the Stardock Central with exactly the same information as I did for the registration on galciv2.com. But when trying to register my copy of GalCivII under 'settings' in Stardock Central it always says that the email-address i've entered does not match there records. BUT ALL INFORMATION IS EXACTLY THE SAME. I validated my email address and I can receive serial number information from the stardock central by email. But I can't register my copy of Galciv2.
Okay...so here are my questions:
1. How can I access the update?
2. How can I get Stardock Central working?
3. Where can I get the real Collectors Edition Stuff? As said before...I do not want to install another Windows desktop!
If you need any further information please let me know. I'm surprised that obviously nobody else run into these problems. It's the first game I wanted to play for years now...so I'm not into all this activation and registration and update stuff. Things obviously changed during the last years: More copy protection, more bugs, more complicated support
Luckily I have some English Skillz...As a German Speaking customer you're obviously lost when you have problems with this game.... Is there a german webpage of galcivII?
