Sorry about this but I just re-installed the game and I'm trying to make heads or tails of the new tech trees. I remember an old journal post by Brad but I can't seem to find it, and google reveals nothing. So anyway I was wondering if someone could link me a good explanation of the various tech trees. Without that I'm not sure I want to go through all the trial and error it would take to find the tech trees that agree with my playstyles.

2 SSD's in raid 0, dear mother fracking *(& thats got to be expensive, though I expect the performance gain will also be quite hefty. I realize why you didn't go all out with the video card, not a whole lot of extra performance there with work but the temptation, oooo the temptation when already putting all that in there.
Furthermore, pndrev, you have nothing to take offense about, as this got nothing to do with you at all. This is my personal preference, and I really am setting the limit here on what is considered inappropriate and what is not. Most people will be disgruntled if they would pay full admittance price for a cinema ticket and then find out they are in an unprofessionally made student film, no matter how good it actually is. And they'd be right, too.And I agree, I should have waited. But since
The problem with that method is that running the wave generator takes up more energy than is given off if the hydrogren were recovered. Also you have the problem of having elemental O-- being produced, which is highly reactive (hence why the water appears to be burning, the O-- it ripping the H+/H2 and reforming water). For reference O and H are natural dimers. The exist in nature as O2 and H2. If separated, they are higly reactive. Also, even though it may work with ocean water, salt wate
You raise some valid points. Hydrogen is less efficient than electricity in the fact that you lose energy making it, then again when it is used where electricity only loses when you use it. That's a basic principle of thermodynamics - a process with fewer steps is inherently more efficient. The one bonus hydrogen has is that it is a great storage medium, and storing electricity is a pain. Take a good look at an electric car, and compute how much of the cost of the car is batteries.
A product will only sell into a subset of a given market. Therefore, you should make sure your product exists in as large as a market as you can practically support. In the case of Crysis, they made a game that would only run on a very small % of the PCs out there. One wonders how well a console game would do if it required users with said console to go out and upgrade some part of it just for that game. Can you get the expansion via Stardock, or do you have to get the Collectors edition sold in stores. I checked their forums and they said Born of Blood hasn't been released for retail in Canada or the US, so I'm wondering if the Stardock version has it built in or if need to buy the collectors in a Store.
Any news on retail availablity outside of the US? would love to pick-up a copy in the UK really. Buy online downloadable copy - do you really have to have a box ?
It's nice, my video gaming habit is as much about collecting as it is playing - though I won't spend too much to satisfy the collection part.
Add me to the list of people not wanting to see the GalCiv series incorporate any gameplay elements from Sins. Keep turn-based games turn-based! That applies to tactical battles too!
This. Usually when someone says no to a post on the internet its to whatever suggestion was made, rather than the statements they made.
And I very much hope you don't. Keep turn based games turn based and leave the real time stuff to the real time games, please. That's not to knock either genre, mind you. I disagree, Sins is not your traditional Warcraft. At the very least I think they should consider incorporating the beautiful and sleek engine to the battles themselves.
No... just... no.

I'm interested in this too. I can run it at 3360x1050 as long as I have it in windowed mode, but every pop up window appears in the middle and its frustrating to read across the gap between my monitors. However on the plus side its gorgeous! I'm willing to put up with it because for the most having double the screen real estate is a huge plus.

I tried submitting a bug report via the submit problem option in Stardock Central (Help-online Support-submit Problem) but it keeps failings so I'll post it here. I tried to update to the latest Twilight of the Arnor version, 0.96[b].001 and the update failed. I'll post the report below. -- [Application] ---------------------------------------------------- Name: Stardock Central Path: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral Version: 2.49.500, build: 162<br
What I'd really like, is for the ability to design the starbases in the shipyard. Let them have their own special parts system(if possible), and for example when I design a Military Starbase with a Warp Accelerator, three Rail Cannons and a Sniper Drone module, I get to choose which of those modules I want to install when I bring a constructor to a new Military Starbase. That, and it would make the Drengin able to design starbases on rocks, which would be awesome

You know you can turn off events like that don't you? This event and others like it are intended to seriously upset the power balance of the galaxy, and 5-10 planets is not enough to do that (in most cases).

One of the reasons that Obsidions games are so buggy and unfinished is that the publisher doesn't give them alot of room to work with if the games not 100%, they're actually contractually forced to release the game before they want to. At least thats what they said for KOTOR2, they're not allowed to work on it till its done they work on it up to the deadline and then its thrown out.

I have the strange desire to pay/donate more for this game... If all expansions even tried to add half of what you guys are adding.. I mean wow this is almost more than a new game.
The game ends when it ends. There's no time limit, so yes you can play until you win. I mean with no victories. For example, if I whip everyone else on the galaxy and win by conquest, can I do what I do in Civ: "Wait! Just... one... more... turn... !" ? Thanks guys! Sadly, no you can't. Once you achieve a victory the game ends and it's time to start a new game. If you'
It get's no high profile attention. How do you define 'high profile attention' for a game? PC Gamer? G4 TV? Penny Arcade?
I would like to disagree, well with the statement than GAlCiv2 gets no high profile attention. At release both PA and CAD raved about it, and there's no way you can say those websites are low profile by any measure. in fact CAD just talked about the upcoming expansion pack on the front page, and linked to this website. I wou
