Reply to PQ Problem in Bug Reports

From what I can tell, this has always been a bug for quite a bit. Playing as a Neutral race doesn't solve the issue if one of your racial abilities is +10% or +20% to PQ. Ironically, it will have the opposite problem as in displaying a higher number than what it seems to be. (i.e. Class 19 displayed, only 17 tiles available). I assume everyone, myself included, who picks the +10 or 20 to PQ bonus in racial abilities does it for the extra tiles. Unfortunately this only applies to

I actually get improved performance slightly if I make the pagefile (a.k.a. swap file, right?) static instead of dynamic. Also allocating a lot more than windows does helps too. To do this, go to your control panel, open "System", go to the "Advanced" tab, click the "Settings" button in the box labelled "Performance". Once the new window opens, go to the "Advanced" tab, at the bottom should be a "Set" button next to your current allocation of page file (a.k.a. Virtual memory, a.k.a.

Would it be possible to maybe have the game consider your "flagship" as a super project? Or do you think that it would act like the others, being if it's destroyed (or conquered for planetary Super Projects), you can not rebuild it.

Is this before or after you close the screens that open after the saved game is loaded?

2 Replies 2,294 Views

I agree that the load times seem to take significantly longer the deeper you are into a game. However, I've also noticed the time to load has dramatically increased now with v1.1 from v1.0x. I time my loads by the loading song, not actual time since my clock only displays minutes... Before with v1.0x, every game, no matter what size map, would load a few seconds after the lady doing the opera impression starts. Now with v1.1, the song seems to play all the way through then start ov

Lucky seems to cause the random events to more often be in your favor, such as finding Ranger Class ships. Although, even without "Lucky" checked, you still have a chance of these events happening. MaverickMW is also correct that "Lucky" also helps in invasions and maybe even space battles. Your luck might affect the advantage role when invading/defending a planet, or maybe it helps determine who shoots first, I don't know, but it does seem to help. As for Creative, in my opinion,

I agree that it's a shame when an update causes a game to get flagged because default values changed. I've been asking for a few weeks now if a dev could just remove the game from my stats. I just want the game removed from my list, don't care about the flag anymore since I obviously don't have the save game, I just want the game removed and would REALLY appreciate SOMEONE who can at least give me some feedback.

Reply to PQ question in Bug Reports

From what I've seen, the PQ bonus you can get only applies to newly colonized planets. You will see the class of a conquered planet increase by your bonus, but no new tiles will be available. Wether a planet gets one or two tiles per level of terraforming seems to not have any direct relation to initlal planet quality with the exception that really low quality planets, 6 and below, seem to not gain any extra tiles with terraforming techs. Wether a planet gets one or two tiles per te

Ehhh... hard to say what they AI is thinking. I play on Painful at the moment and I have come across similar issues with the computer not building factories. What's more is that the AI will put 2 or 3 capitals on the same planet. In several cases the AI has put the Manufacturing capital on Class 8 - 10 planets and still only building 1, 2, or 3 factories. The AI appears to take 3 to 10 turns for smaller ships and sometimes over 100 turns for larger ones, yet they seem to pump out t

I think Dr. Ben was joking, at least I hope he was! ________________________________________________________________________ >>>> Economy fluctuates for unknown reasons. >>Either you've started building or upgrading something or your trade ships are moving along a very long trade route. -Yeah, I considered that, but the economy graph isn't affected by how much you spend, and it only seemed to fluctuate when I wasn't trading. Also, the amounts that it

Sheesh! You weren't kidding about a nearly invisible option! It doesn't even appear to be an option since it looked black to me, I was almost afraid to click on it...

I've been waiting awhile to hear some feedback on this, so I am starting a new post to see if I can get someone to reply! Can a dev or someone at Stardock PLEASE erase my flagged first game? I no longer have the save obviously, so I can understand you not just removing the flag, but I want that game out of my record and don't want to straight up delete all of my games.

0 Replies 2,094 Views

I would assume so, but when one just clicks "Next" since they liked the custom race they used from playing normal games, and doesn't even bother to look at abilities and see the "-1", it's hard to notice and thus kind of a rip off when you initially have no idea why it got flagged. Can a dev or someone at Stardock PLEASE erase my first game?

After conquering a planet with the Galactic Privateer on it, it appears to have no affect. I try to not rely on heavy trade as mentioned by Supreme Shogun, but the extra 600 bc for investing a few turns in building freighters is always nice. Especially if you're like me and waste even more time building groups of 4 builders and having them construct economic bases with trade bonuses in them along each route.

This is a "short" list of the glitches, bugs and exploits that I've come across since upgrading to version 1.1: 1. Needs the ability to set targetting priorities for combat. When the enemy has 8 - 12 tiny/small ships in a fleet and 2 or 3 large/massive, I don't want to pick off the small fodder first, I want to take out the big ones that can actually punch through my defenses. (Heh, maybe the AI is smart enough to make use of "chaff" ships) 2. Economy fluctuates for

Sounds good to me, now if only someone would be so kind as te remove that cheater flagged game, if just the tag can't be removed that is, I REALLY dislike having that thing on my record just from having -1 race points left over. Also, how does one get their medals displayed in their posts?

7 Replies 5,681 Views

Some feedback would be GREATLY appreciated since I have yet to have anyone, player or dev, to give me some form of feedback. Ok, just finished a game, 52500 pts., the third game from top was 127610... What I don't get is how that was determined. The game I just finished was completed 5 years sooner, had about 8 times greater population, held the lead much longer, finished with significantly higher stats and the galaxy size and di

No new types of crashes to be seeen from my end, just the typical Autosave crashes when it gets to be late in the game or when your video card gets to warm. Noticed gameplay bugs for Beta 4 1. A.I. ignores upgradeable tiles, I don't mean ignore as in not upgrade them, I mean ignore as in literally ignore upgrading them and just build stuff right over them. 2. A.I. somehow can build two starports on one planet. Althou

Ummm... I am not sure how, or why, my very first metaverse game got flagged for cheating. My best guess is that it is because I used my custom race that I had during the campaign, then updated the game to 1.0x from the retail version, and since the race was the way I liked it, I didn't even bother to check stats and just clicked next. I no longer have the save game obviously, but is it possible to just erase that game from my characters games?</font

I didn't know they made another Beta3, heh, didn't they think the update was good enough to be Beta4? Thanks though, I shall pick that one apart as well. A lot of my bugs/glitches/complaints refer to gameplay overall, I should've been more clear on which ones were Beta3 specific.

Oh yeah, I have also noticed that the longer I play, the greater the chance that Autosave will crash the game. I now just Quicksave at the end of every turn.

More time to waste... Referring to ones I listed previously that I'd love to get a reply on... 14. I agree that that part of the miniaturization makes sense. I've fully researched miniaturization in one of my games, built the Hyperion Shrinker, and actually managed to capture 3 others, giving me a total of 145% I believe. So why does the Blackhole Eruptor, which is listed to take up 13 spaces, actually fill up 11, and the Black

I've noticed all of those bugs except for number 5 as well... I have some to add to this list though... 7. Despite one of the fixes being listed as improved A.I. usage of tiles on planets, I've actually found them to be dumber than before. a. A.I. puts 6 Advanced farmings on a planet with no morale boosters except maybe a stock market. b. A.I. upgrades buildings with soil enhancements/Habitat Improvement/Terraforming f

Yeah, I've actually played around with the settings some and will beg to differ on your explanation of what planets does. From what I've noticed, the "planets" setting doesn't refer to uninhabitable planets, but to the actual odds of planets being around a star. The "habitable planets" setting sets how many of those planets will be habitable. I may be wrong about that, but that is the trend I have noticed from playing around with map creations and t
