When I reached advanced and I have more money than I know what to do with I sometimes increase the money in espionage to mad levels (500bc's+) on races who have techs that I don't. It may just be wishful thinking on my part but I seem to steal tech more then, so money still has an effect, I think. Heh, try forgetting about espionage late in the

In fact, the Imperial (or Imperator, as it is technically called) is 1.6 km long, while the Executor is 17.2 km long. Eclipse is 16 km, but has greater mass than the Executor. /Pedantry Heh, Star Wars n00b... The Imperator was not the technical name of the Imperial Class Star Destroyer. It was the actual name of one of the Imperial Star Dest

Has the amount of moves used per Instant Battles changed? Before the v1.2 betas, it was costing me four movement to do one instant battle, but just one to do any other types.

Ok, as we all have complained about miniaturization making compenents get bigger (Which you really have to admit almost defeats the purpose of miniatuization, actually makes some levels of it worthless!), the A.I. players seem to have their components not get bigger with miniaturization... At least that is the only thing I can think of as I was looking at the specs for one of the A.I.'s ships. Kork Dreadnaught (Massive) 2x Ultra Life Support 3x HyperWarp MkIII 21x

If the miniaturization worked logically (decreases space of components, doesn't increase hull space [ship size could still increase the size of some components]), there would be one major problem: 100% miniaturization. You can suddenly place an infinit amount of components on a ship. Every component has size 0. But this could be fixed with a miniaturization c

That kind of race would be successfull in large games with slower development, that would be expected to last 100+ turns. Nowadays games are quite short: an usual one scenario is one player/party grows quite big, kills some neighbours, grows even bigger and soon others agree game's over, well before turn 100. Well, I beg to differ, a 100 turn g

None of this accounts for the problem with the Yor, they literally forgot that they were the ones who declared war and the only ones to commit any aggression, which is my main point here. It doesn't take a lot of memory or code for an AI to remember whether it was the one to declare war, or attack, or that I never did anything to them. The reas

Unfortunately, a fully armed starbase can easily be taken out by two or three ships since the Starbase can only fire at one ship at a time. Fortunately, with the new combat system, the starbase may actually kill something, or at least damage it for once! Also, shouldn't hit points of the starbase increase as you put larger and larger battle stations on it?

Yes, I can find that no problem, but what I would like to know is what needs to be done to get some of the achievement ones, and how ones rank is determined.

As far as players old scores. No we should not delete them if they have been gone forever even. I mean, lets look back at Suralles history with GC. I wasn't saying delete them, I was just asking if they have been modified with the new scoring system. It's hard to tell if they were or not, but they do seem to be significantly higher then those

Miniaturization seems to be something that started out as one thing in the game and then changed towards release and was never renamed. Brad has said many times that they wanted all ship sizes to be viable throughout the game. Also he did not want the end game to become a race to the *monster ship*. I think the way the system works now is that balancing act in well action<

Ummm... I really fail to see how the character ranked first is ranked first? Played 10 games, granted 10 high scoring games, but has only played one game with v1.1 final (unless the last one with "v1.1 memory issue test" doesn't mean anything), so has his/her score not been adjusted for the scoring changes? Or is it not possible since they haven't posted a game with it in about a month? They had a second character that was in first place, but hasn't posted a game in almost 3 months, but now

Is their a list of all the medals possible somewhere and a description of what one has to do to get them? Like what does the "Wounded in Action" medal mean? And why does it still have "Tough" in my stats as my difficulty? I'd figure that with more than half of my games being "Painful", that it would at least bring it up to "Painful" since I have played some "Crippling" games as well.

Ok, you know the random even that basically says that an empire found a Precursor device on a planet that adds "x" amount to the class of Uninhabited planets within 1 or 2 sectors, or for that star system? Well, their is a MAJOR bug, yet a nice one actually, that occurs when this event happens. As normal, all uninhabited planets gain the amount of bonus said, but the problem comes with star systems that do not have 5 planets in orbit. Once this event happens, the game will eseentia

It's quite complicated. The developers have the rights on the code, but publisher had the rights on the graphics and patially on the code. Since they didn't part as friends... Heh, what graphics? They weren't exactly mind-blowing. <TD class

Also any idea why It says NORMAL as my skill? 9 of my ten games have been on challenging. It'll probably say normal until you win a few more games on challenging, even better, I'd imagine winning just one on "Tough" would make it go up to challenging. My guess is that it takes the average difficulty by giving each difficulty level a numerical

Arceans repeatedly threaten me for my "military buildup", even though my entire military consists of one warship protecting each of my two planets and a single transport sitting between them. Well, the military buildup complaint may just befrom , as mentioned above, your transport sitting in space. The other reason they're randomely declaring

I'm a bit confused, some of the posts contradict each other. What does Mind Control actually does? What about other wonders that are ill described, what do they do? What about goverments? Anyone who has checked this can make it clear please? Well, the mind control center, by description, is supposed to make planets that are revolting d

Heh, and I thought miniaturization was supposed to make components smaller... You know... Smaller size, but no loss of power/ability Well, I did some experimenting. I had a ship that, with all the miniaturization techs (but no shrinker) and a 400% ability in my raceconfig file, came to 270/270. (I am also a Technologist, which adds 20%) <br

I've just noticed this since upgrading to v1.2b2 Late in the game, the A.I. opponents seem to have stopped building new buildings on empty tiles and only upgrading used ones. For example, A.I. has a class 23, but is only using 7 of the tiles and leaving the rest unused. The A.I. also doesn't seem to build any Super Projects except for the Capitals (would assume they build Political Capitol as well, but it went MIA for some reason with 1.2) I tested this by givin

Yeah, but like I said, it's only a theory. I also noticed you have a lot of low scoring games in your character kingmob, I would suggest you try and build yourself up as fast as possible so you can start your points racking up early since your score is determined from every turn, not just the end results of the last turn. For example, I try and get a significantly larger military than the other races, get every resource I can, sometimes even going to war with a race to dest

So you're a stars!'s beginner. Anybody higher would say "Hey, free planets and tech!" Heh, no, I am far from a beginner, I bought the game back when it was still v1.x and ran it on Windows 3.1 I just played it so much that I actually did get tired of playing it. I started modding it though recently to change things up a little. I

The thing is too that it says its bonus is 100% to economy. I noticed quote a few "wonders" that says it does a certain thing but gives a different bonus. Their is one that says in its description that it helps with influence but it gives a 20% bonus to diplomacy. ***25% bonus, and it's the Galactic Showcase. So essentially it's the Diplomatic
