Yeah, this happens sometimes... the class raises correctly (since PQ affects class, not so much tiles), but planets influenced to join you usually don't gain the extra tiles granted with the PQ bonus. Military conquered planets do seem to grant the bonus tiles though for some reason.

Or am I missing something somewhere since I just noticed some of my components gained 1 more in size, thus going against the definition of miniaturization...
I am not sure if this is a bug or not, but it doesn't seem right... Late in the game, after all miniaturization techs are researched, traded, and/or stolen, it adds up to +115% miniaturization with Hyperion Shrinker. My massive designs only had one or two spaces free, since it's not always beneficial to screw around with it to fill up every single space. Anywho, I conquered an A.I. player's planet that had their Hyperion Shrinker, so miniaturization bonus was now at +130%... Huge problem
I have no clue how to modify them... So far my best set of bonuses was on my Homeworld once, a +700% manufacturing, +300% manufacturing, and a +100% morale. So far the largest planet I've legitametly colonized was a class 26 intially, 29 after +10% PQ bonus, then 31 after event (Neutral and Evil choices were both 7%), and finally 37 after all terraforming techs. (The planet did +2 tiles per tech) My smallest planet is a class 2. (listed as class 3, but only had one buil
If you don't know where that button is, it's in the "Edit my characters" menu area. They finally made the @#$!^& thing visible!
Actually make the size mod 0, or just to be safe, you can see what the size mod is for a construction module, or troop module, since they are the same size no matter what.
Let me add another feature request: I would like the continue building ships option to be per planet, not just a global toggle. I would like to be able to set some planets to build a single ship, while others keep churning out ships. Temporary fix for that... If you have enough money to buy the ship on the planet you want to produce just one,
I'm playing my first Metaverse game created under v1.0, with level=Painful, a gigantic map, everything abundant (to maximize my habitable planets and hence population), tight clusters (to maximize the effect of EC starbases) and very fast research. This game has been "painful" not because of the difficulty level (which is too easy) but because of the memory problem with la
Well, sometimes I have a problem with ships/fleets staying in their "mode" each turn. Most commonly, Sentry, Gaurd, and AutoAttack. (Have yet to use AutoRetreat) By giving a ship/fleet one of those orders with the keyboard, it sometimes doesn't hold that order if I end the turn without selecting something else... Also, since most of us don't use AutoFocus now that they gave the option to turn it off finally, you can select any of the enemies things, then click the "Find" button. It will the
Pressing the "Enter" key on the num pad will run a turn, also, try selecting an enemy fleet or starbase (friendly or enemy) before running a turn, it seems to speed things up some for me...
ya gotta keep in mind your planets grow pop faster when they are happy, with like a double rate when they are real happy (100%) since your money comes from taxes more pop = more taxes, so you wanna keep them happy so they will rut and make babies for you to tax and then hurl at enemy worlds. So when ya begin don't drop a factory or a lab or anything like that, buy yourself
I had put a little work into finding the absolute best combination of weapon size and miniaturization, but if they're going to tweak things like that without telling us I better not continue. (For example, the best and cheapest Beam ship with 2 power is a small hull with Laser II and Impulse II. For three power research to Advanced Miniaturization (cheaper than Laser III)
I officially, unofficially, declare Creativity as not functioning in any way at all, except for eating up an attribute point.
Zerogman: Let me introduce you to some REAL SW fanatics. If they saw your comments, they would not be happy. Here: Link This page is devoted to the common mile-long destroyer known to the forces of the Galactic Empire as the Imperator-class star destroyer, and colloquially known as Imperial star destroyer to rebel operatives. Eh, this a
With Creativity, when you research a tech, you have a chance of getting a second tech at the same time. For instance, last game I remember it occuring, I was researching Chaff. When I discovered Chaff, I also discovered Smart Chaff (the next in the Chaff line). When you discover two techs in a row like that, it just means you had enough
Here's a reply I posted a few seconds ago that might have some relevence in this thread... So I have made the jump from crippling to Masochistic... and I need some advice, Basically I am getting my ass handed to me on a pretty regulas basis. Crippling I can deal with no problem (this is all 1.11 by the way I don't want to deal with metaverse cames
Wow... I didn't realize I wrote a short novel... I need a life...
So I have made the jump from crippling to Masochistic... and I need some advice, Basically I am getting my ass handed to me on a pretty regulas basis. Crippling I can deal with no problem (this is all 1.11 by the way I don't want to deal with metaverse cames not being counted) Anyone who has made this switch got any advice? I'm having a brutal time of it here, the e
Byram (For the younger generation... "Hooked on Phonics", or fonics, I can't remember which it is, was like an educational game that taught kids to read... Apparently it only worked well on dumb kids... Or so I heard... The slogan at the end of that @#$%!?^& commercial was "Hooked on Phonics worked for me!" I am going to go hang myself now for explaining that, please... shoot me now...
Early in the game yes, but unfortunately, or fortunately depending upon how you look at it, I seem to get into a literal galactic war later in the game. I get a kick out of putting only good and evil races in sometimes and watching them all go to war once the A.I. decides to start forming alliances. I guess I get a kick out of 2 v 2, or 3 v 3, or 2 v 3 wars. Now if only the A.I. would help me defend my stuff, although I usually have no problem letting the enemy blow up my allies mining bases.
If you're going to get picky about language, and call someone a noob, you should know that the Executor was not a "Super-class Star Destroyer", it was a "Super Star Destroyer class" ship. I am not being picky about language, I was pointing out an error the guy made, just like I am correcting yours... The Star Destroyer is a type of ship, if it
Heh, one learns quickly that the stock ships suck... Sure they look cool, sometimes, but they are rather worthless for combat since they don't maximize available space since I am guessing they were all designed with the possibilty of having no miniaturization bonuses. My thing is, I see what the A.I. starts building, 95% of the time that is, they do missle offense and defense. I usually start out with beam offense, missle defense, then switch to mass driver offense and adjust defens
He's referring to the techs to build the capitols I believe. Remember that different races start out with different techs. Most A.I. races start with the tech needed to build a Manufacturing capital, and all are only 1 or 2 techs shy of being able to build a tech capital. Lastly, the A.I. is many many many times better at micro managing then we are. Although it's only because the A.I. never gets tired of it. Players seem to understand how to specialize planets a lot bett
the one in Sims 1 that said "reticulating splines" in a way that made it sound obscene Heh, that's not just Sims1, every single SimCity game has also used "Reticulating Splines", it was just finally spoken in Sims 1 and 2. Funny thing is... I think "Reticulating Splines" actually means nothing and was probably done just for the sake of random
As you get to the higher difficulties, the A.I. uses more and more advanced Algorithms to determine their moves. The most advanced ones are used when the A.I.'s intelligence is at Intelligent and above, at least according to the manual. Since the highest 3 difficulty levels each use "Incredible" as their intelligence, I imagine other bonuses are applied to actually make a difference. Also, the A.I. does get progressively larger and larger economic, production, and research bonuses,
