Feel free to post the minor race changes as a mod on its own for the time being Sadly I need to finish the political parties for that to be possible with any meaningful application. Moreover I have not really changed them much from the default at present other them assigning political parties.

Aloha! e-stab I'm developing the Default Systems Comprehensive Modification Pack (DSCMP) and I was wondering if you would be interested in getting involved. If you are please contact me via MSN. My MSN is [email protected] . I look forward to hearing from you.
Tasty Gerbil - But in my opinion, it would seem to me that 30/20/10 could throw some things out of whack for things to be balanced. That was my point. I based it on the default system and simply limited the limited number of bonuses added a weighted value for each one in order of priority. I think the groups should also have a limit
DreadArchon - I would have assigned each party a certain number of points from the attribute list to make it balanced. For example, you gave the Federalists 6 points of abilities and the Pacifists 12, with the 6 (excepting HP) being useless and the 12 being horribly powerful. I would just have done 8 (or maybe 5) points per party. The difficul
Hmmmm... I cant edit my posts and the first post changes everytime I come back to the thread - something strange is going on here. Anyway, I added the following political parties today. 1. Totalitarian: Military Production 30%, Loyalty 20%, Soldiering 10% 2. Expansionist: Propulsion 1 ParS/M, Range +1 sct, Sensors +1 ParS 3. Imperialists: Military Production 30%, Espiona
This is one of my peeves. I often place a SB in a system that I have a few planets in as a protection method as bonus supplement. However more often then not my enemies by pass it completely.
Cool cant wait!
It is difficult to which bonus to give the parties relative to the others as the bonus list is heavy in some areas that are not relevant to the type of political party system. The list is as follows: Ability Index (ID) Economics 0 Weapons 1 Defense 2 Propulsion 3 Morale 4 Population Growth 5 Social Production 6 Military Production 7 Research 8 Influence 9 Trade 10 D
I am currently working on revamping the races as I think I have finished balancing default Political party system. I have made a few data tables for the major and minor races that I am using to work from and I will start to do major changes shortly however the minor ones I have made to date seem to hold as expected. For example the default political party is 0 or Federalists for every race. I set each race to a different one and changed the bonus values and they stayed. T
(Please note: I am doing a reply instead of an edit because the format of my first post is messed up for some reason. It is showing all as one paragraph to me.) Anyway I developed a provisional matrix for the default parties. The parameters I used are as follows: Primary bonus at 30% Secondary bonus at 20% Tertiary bonus at 10% Primary penalty at 20% Secondary penalty at 10% Tertiary penalty at 5% I diametrically opposed the primary bon
Aloha! It has been some time since I have done any mod work for GCII because I was waiting for the 1.2 release and because of family and work demands as well as a commitment to a very large project for another game title. However due to seasonal changes in business I find I have a few more hours free. So I decided to pick up where I left off. The working title for the project is Default Systems Comprehensive Modification Pack (DSCMP) - I'll try to think of a shorter one. <img src="ht
As I said in the main thread for the Xpack I would like the following: My functionality request is simple. I would like to see all the Random galaxy variables as an input options for example the X & Y axis for the map. Moreover have the ability to set it to something 100x100 for those of us with monster rigs. Now I'll go all out and suggest the following: 1. The hard coded limits for abilities removed or at least set to something 100% and the unimplemented ones
What to add to the fine list already given... My functionality request is simple. I would like to see all the Random galaxy variables as an input options for example the X & Y axis for the map. Moreover have the ability to set it to something 100x100 for those of us with monster rigs. Additionally, I would like the hard coded limits for abilities removed or at least set to something 100% and the unimplemented ones fully implemented.
This is great news for gamers. The revolution - err... evolution of the gaming industry look like it is starting to spread. It reminds me a quote from a Vorlan Ambassador that went "And so it begins...." Good job SD!
Great job this project guys. It is one really wanted to work on but have to busy to do. By the way, I have lots of B5 resources I add to the project if anyone is intrested. I can pull stuff from official B5 media CDs, cards and DVDs.
The question is a joke -RIGHT?
I basically don’t get a multiplayer feel for this title. As much as I try and really want to get that vibe it I simply can't. It is reminiscent of Civilization to me. When it went MP that ubiquitous special feeling I had towards for years vaporized. I think the single best selling point about this game is the superior SP experience. Furthermore it is in a class by itself now so to alter it may be playing with fire. If going MP is a desired
That said, I want to point out an initial thought that crossed my mind. I think the extra ship pack would go down a lot better after all the races have their own unique hulls. Maybe there is some lore as to why some of the civs have similar or matching hulls but as a rule, most should be unique. As quoted above I think this is an area tha
Sadly, I have stopped playing GS2 all together after finishing this game. As much as I love GS2 I'm an old school RPGer and it seemed like the thing to do. Why you might ask? Well I did so because I found the Dark Brotherhood plot line to be very well done, in fact the best in the game in my opinion so I decided to add to it in a seriously major way. I started working on putting together an exceptionally professional mod team from other like minded communtiy members. For example it h
As I said before the revolution has begun!! Viva la Stardock!!
Cool! GS is big time now!!!
This is an April fools joke thread right? Surely the original poster KNOWS exactly what a BETA is.....
I'd just come off a bitter, bitter disappointment with being banned from the Rome Total War forums because I kept insisting the broken AI was lifting sieges everytime the game was loaded. Of course, the expansion pack finally vindicated me, but it left a real bitter taste in my mouth about interacting with developers. - Pode 697 This is somewh
So far this project is unbelievable given its being developed by media and programming students on a part-time bases. I can't help but think about its potential if a company like Stardock got involved. The hires alpha version space combat demo I saw looked nearly as good as the $100k stuff from the series.
Hmmm.. Strong Military = Cultural/Political Survival One of the oldest and most basic lessons a leader must learn if they are to survive the test of time.
