No, I was playing a game with all the default settings

I posted yesterday that i could not get core ships to show up to build them, and i recieved a link to what components each core ship needed. I just played through a whole game and no core ship above defender showed up in my starport. Clearly something isnt right, I'm just not sure how to fix this. thanks

Hey I just bought the game and have only played the majority of one game, but I was wondering why the only core ships that appear for me are a the basic starting ones and defender and one attack ship fire something or other. I am playing as the humans and I've researched many many military techs. A bunch have said that it unlocks this ship but i need 1 or 2 other techs along with it, but they dont tell me which ones. I'm just trying to see some of the
