Damn, I really was hoping that was my last post, but since Scrotty, Shadow-Scythe and IAmGory just screwed up so bad I had to expose them for the morons they are. Post #4, my second post, I listed two bugs, two major ones that ruined my last game. "Stevious" pointed out you were wrong about me not listing any bugs in Post #30, which apparently you didn't read either. Try reading the thread next time ACE.
Hereticked
(response to Scrotty) Nope, no bones. Not for you or Stardock. I will however respond to your lame screed before I leave. 1. The game does suck right now, but not because of the crashing. 2. Yes, the real problem is the gameplay bugs. I've said it about 10 times now, and I've also said its not my responsibility to report them. Get it through your thick skull. 3. Wrong. Many people ARE finding the bugs and many of them are being reported. I guess they
Thank you for playing the peace maker SpearThrower, but the point of this thread has been lost on almost everyone who read it. I'm done wasting time here, I'll play the game again once its had 2 or 3 more patches.
(reponse to taliesinangelus) Does nobody read? I already said that updating my video driver will probably solve all or most of the crashing, I know this. But why do I care about the game crashing when the game doesn't play properly to begin with? If the game is full of bugs, solving the crash issue doesn't improve my Galactic Civ 2 experience. The game is still heavily flawed, im simply not being INTERRUPTED while playing the heavily flawed game.
Yes "Monkey Pants" I did need to get it off my chest, and so will anyone who actually cares about PC gaming. The reason I only listed two bugs was because those were the biggest two that screwed my last game, there were literally dozens and dozens more that I noticed as I played. Am I actually going to write them down and post them here? No, as I said above ITS NOT MY JOB. I shouldnt have to; the bugs shouldnt exist when I buy the retail version. I don't want to "talk with
"I bet you are fun at partys!!" You posted that second comment after you realized how stupid the first one was right? Or maybe you really think gameplay bugs ARE fixed by getting a better video card? Start a huge galaxy game with all of the AI opponenets and play for 10-15 game years. You'll see how "rock solid" the game is.
Ok, for everyone whos posting about the video driver and didn't read the thread : I'm aware my video driver is old, and I already said the crashing isn't nearly as problematic as the bugs in the actual gameplay. And for people who don't have even a basic understanding of game design : Updating your video driver or video card doesn't solve gameplay bugs. Only Stardock can do that. Thank you.
Yes Featauril, PC game developers releasing incomplete games is indeed getting old. But since I know you were referring to my complaints, I'll just remind you that if you DON'T bring these things up, then there's no reason for Stardock to improve their methods and to do a better job of releasing a complete game in the future.
Updating the video driver will probably alleviate at least some of the crashing, but as I said above, I'm really more angry about the gameplay bugs. Until they're fixed, theres no reason for me to play again.
(response to "theboogeyman") It most certainly does have bugs coming out of its *ss. Hundreds of gameplay bugs that aren't going to be fixed by any driver update or upping the color depth. How complete your game is when you ship it is COMPLETELY under Stardocks control. Stop blindly defending a game developer and pull your head out. You can be a fan and still be critical.
I'm not nearly as concerned about the crashing as I am about the dozens upon dozens of bugs I've already encountered in the game. The crashing is something you would expect to be cleared up either by updating your drivers or by a patch released soon after the game. But to release the game with this many gameplay bugs just makes me furious. I've tried a couple huge-galaxy style games and after 10 game years or so the game just becomes unplayable due to a number of issues, many of which have alrea
I'd be playing Galactic Civilizations 2 right now instead of posting this if the game didn't crash every 15 minutes and have bugs coming out its *ss. This is one of many reasons why PC gaming is on its death bed. If this is what passes for "quality" and "customer oriented" then it's no wonder PC games makes up a measly 15% of the gaming market now. Next time, finish your game before shipping it to retail (or releasing it on the web for that matter.) And no, don't ask me to be patien
