Looking forward to the expansion pack, I must say though that I have no interest in campaigns, I have not even played the one already in the game. What I really want to see added is an improvement on the enviroment (galaxy) Stars: I would like to see these a little more realistic. Tone down the color saturation a little bit. Larger difference in size, make a red star a giant, white star a dwarf ect. Be nice to see solar flares too. Planets: This is real beef with me,

Its exactly what I've been looking for. For future reference, do these boards have a search function tucked away somewhere? Left side just below recent posts.

Not necessarily. Human understanding is based upon knowledge of physical reality and to suggest that humanity has complete knowledge of such reality is premature. It has nothing to do with human understanding, it is to do with human perception. A human cannot visually see with the eye purple and green
I have this bug too, sure looks ugly. Hope this is being fixed for the 1.1 release.
I too have come across this. Loaded up a save game and all my 0 planets were the same skin. (I think all my inhabitable planets all had the same earthlike skin too) I was messing around with XML files and thought I may have accidently screwed something up. Neither of you have done any modding have you? If you have not then it is a bug and I can confirm it has happened to me. It does not happen all the time though becuase I have started new games and lo
We appreciate your interest and any feedback you can offer. Yup I agree this BBS blows, worst I have ever tried to use, dump it. The second quote is mine, but I changed my name and can no lon

Well I saw YOR and OVERPOWERED and thought you would like this screenshot. Link
Thanks for the link Serax, Mystic shadows and lightyears away are standing out right now, have not listened to them all yet.
There are consequeces already in the game if you go good\evil. If you choose good/evil path it affects how other races view you. So the bonus of picking good things is in your relations with other races. Of course if you are intent on total destruction then join the dark side. I am pretty sure that when I leaned towards evil, alot of the vote options that came up were to punish me for those infractions, also other races seemed to be much more negative
Hit print screen while ingame, drop to windows, start your image viewer and paste.
A stupid question probably, when I create a new blank map how do I add stuff to it.
Excellent, thanks freidog. So it seems to get the 'red giants' I will just have to down scale everything else (planets will end up very small) now I just need to wait until the map editor is done and I can build my galaxy. Red giants, white dwarfs, Binary star systems and no green/purple stars. Unfortunate that I will not be able to have random maps with my visual desires, but oh well.
I have a similar problem, I created a custom race that uses the human ships, played through it creating all my own ships. I started another game and this time played as the humans, they use human ships but none of my ships are showing up. So do I have to create new ships for every single race even if they use the human ships? This seems to be a bad idea or a bug. I fully understand that if I play a race that uses differnet hulls I will need to build sh
don't think we as modders have access to the rules governing random map generation, so while you can make a custom map conforming to your rules, you can't get random maps following your rules. Well thats better then nothing, I did eventually find out that I could open the maps the same as XML files.
So there is some in-game bug which prevents them to come up in my game I do not think so, see when you have all the techs, all the ships show up, so they are there and show up when all required techs are researched. I think the problem is that 'all' the requirements to get a certian ships are not co
Ok go to the directory where you installed the game. Find the file GalCiv2.exe, right click it and create a shortcut. Right click the shortcut you just made, in Target: you will see c:\game\GalCiv2\GalCiv2.exe c:\game\ part will probably be different on yours that part doesnt matter, what matters is that you need to add the word cheat at the end, so for mine it looks like c:\games\GalCiv2\GalCiv2.exe cheat Click apply, now when yo
You realize that you have to activate the cheats for them to work? When you did ctrl-shift-r did it unlock all the techs?
*&@^&*^@ I hate this BBS.
You can make custom star systems with very specific attributes, but I'm not sure about random generation. I did see that one, you could adjust the Home systems of the different races and thats about it. I have not seen anyway to even make custome maps. I noticed the thread where someone is making a
This happens when you select ships that are in a stack. If you select a ship in a stack and move it you have to select it agian after moving it off of the stack.
Do these ships just pop up automatically? Yes Does the difficulty level matter in getting them? I'm on tough right now. No, I am playing my first game on hard and I have more
Second, even if it was better to design your own ships, are you seriously claiming that I am REQUIRED to do my own designs!! Yes you are, there is no possible way to do it otherwise. There are very few core ships in this game. Just look at the tech tree, there are thousands of different paths you can take, and for almost every single a
