It should put you at war with all other races. Every other race should think that one of their planets may be next, even your allies. For strategic play I think removing planets/resources is a bad idea. The fact that players need to compete for these resources is what makes the game.<br/

Alliance only trading is a bad idea. In my games I am by far the first one to research Alliances, then I have to trade/sell it or give it away. Also I have to build up my relations to make the trades which takes time. Trading with a race boosts my relations. Hoever for those evil or less social races it would be crippling. If everyone gets Alliances for free then it may be ok, but as you can see there's lots to balance for dipl
Frogboy, First off I love this game, great work. When you say the AI improvement is going to hit diminishing returns does that mean that there will be few/minimal AI improvements after 1.1? Could these improvements be linked to an option for those with high end PCs? Would there be benefits (or lessons learned) for a sequel/expansion by making these improvements anyway? (Note- I haven't ramped up to intelligent yet, but I
How about: Mighty Pirate... Yaaar! Freelance Emporor Has not gone to the dark side
Sure, All my games have been metaverse games. Outside of the campaign they always will be. I like to track my progress. I am slowly trying out all the races, with increasing difficulty and various galaxy settings. I'm not in an empire, but the medals & rank are nice to see.<b
Were they allied with you? Be definition a diplomatic victory means that all players (Human & AI) are allied.
You folks have it good here. I'm coming over from WoW where rogue is a color. Forums and game chat there is a burning cesspool, and poor grammar and obnoxiousness seem to be prized there. I feel that it's a shame that people don't wirte better even when they probably have the skill and capacity to do so. However posters here have been much more articulate. Perhaps you should pick your battles.
Isn't there a racial bonus to miniturization that can be selected at startup? Also I've seen a galatic wonder or trade good that can boost it. Try looking at these two to see if it's still possible.
Hello, I've played/posted 3 games: -Korx, Easy, Tiny -Drath, Normal, Medium -Altarian, Normal, Gigantic Since I've spent more time in game years as Altarian shouldn't that be my favorite race? I'm trying out each race (albeit on a variety of galaxy settings) & have been ramping up the difficulty.
I'm not sure if it really matters. I've targeted cultural conquest as my intended method it's never played out as my main advantage. I've always used my military to enforce my ability to push influence. Those bases are expensive & it can take years to flip a planet that is happy and loyal. To see influence on a planet you need to do some spying on the race that owns it.
Terrans. In my games they are always a strong civ. Even when I stack up my diplomacy techs & goods I just can't get leverage on them. Also when I have fought them they've been the toughest to crack militarily. My solution? I allied with them then droped influence bases when my neighbors (Torians) decided to Surrender to Earth. Of course Toria was my property shortly before their surrender... Lately I've been hiring every other race to
I think it's just low on thier list. Since loss of production affects all players equally the net effect is probably less significant compared to thier other bugs. I'm currently playing a gignatic map and I have loaded 3 times. I'm probably going to average one save/load every 2-3 game years. The devs can handle this two ways. They can acknowledge it now but set it aside, or they can publicly ignore it until it is addresse
It's related to your alignment & status. It will change when you are struggling, militarilly strong, fighting a war, etc. I don't know of a way to change it on purpose, but you're likely to hear a variety as you play more. There's probably a way to get all the tracks from the game data.
I tried evil on my first game. Having no starbase upgrade costs was great. It does strike me as odd that the best way to conquer in a 'good' way (by influence) is to declare your race as the scum of the galaxy. I've been good lately, but those influence bases are expensive & it's tough work to get a planet to swicth sides. Of course maybe it IS more evil to pump out subliminal messages than to go for blood.
