Out of curiosity, does the game use any kind of LOD filtering to reduce the quality of models when you zoom further out?

Cool, found it. Thanks. Also noticed it is under the PC Gaming forums section as well.
That's just awesome. So now we can have rotating sensor dishes too?
Where can I find the change logs for the beta releases since the first 1.1 beta? I read the change log for this release which was quite big, but I have no idea what the last few versions are supposed to fix.
If you have the option "Skip moves left after autopilot" turned OFF, there is a ship that reached it's autopilot point and still has movement points left over. It's waiting for you to move that ship. The camera doesn't always center on that particular ship, but all you have to do is click the Find button. Hope that helps.
I'll have to try this on my 20" Dell. 1200x1600.
The alliances need to be handled better. They should be treated more like a semi-permanent team. If you are allied with another race, and they join an alliance with a 3rd race, all 3 of you should be allied. If an ally member ends up in a war, everybody would have to help them, or leave the alliance, with the possibility of future retribution, once the war settles back down. I think a cool idea would be to have a vote type system in place
If it breaks your computer its not our fault.. Man I can imagine thats SERIOUSLY BOLDFACE in any Starforce eula. First of all, StarForce doesn't have it's own EULA. Second of all, all the software that it protects makes no mention of it's protection in the EULA, the box, or manual. Even the sl
Sorry I meant it was my 3rd game I started...I changed my mind about a few things and restarted the 3rd time. Right now I'm just trying out challenging.
I don't believe that's possible, but that's a great idea. It would be awesome to be able to look at any bonuses before colonization.
I would like to see the ability to build lower grade structures than what's the highest available. Sometimes you still may come across a planet in mid-game which hasn't been touched yet, or you may be lucky to get some heavy tech bonuses and race through some of the early techs. When you colonise these planets, you're forced to build the highest level of what is available, and I hate that. You're either forced to pay a lot of money to purchase it ri
I've noticed that gaining that first level often requires taking out at least several ships, but once you get that first XP level, every ship I kill is another level.
That's probably because sales have been more sporadic recently due to the problem with the game being sold out.
I think carriers would be great. Carriers obviously added to the power of naval fleets during WW2 by allowing the fleets to project their firepower a lot farther than the range of the big guns. And fleets on the opposing end were generally toast if they didn't have their own carriers to defend against. Big ships are great targets for small, maneuverable fighters with powerful guns. I would love to see a fleet setup system simila
I'm playing through my 3rd game, at beginner difficulty, large galaxy. It's been nearly 10 years from the start, and some of my medium hulled attack craft now have XP levels somewhere in the 30s, or maybe higher, I'd have to double-check again, and have nearly 140hps each. I've had 4 of them grouped together from the beginning. Yeah, it's pretty easy, but it's still rather rediculous when you think about it... Am I the only one who thinks
I don't think it would be difficult to add either. They could have it show up in the GNN reports, or even as a separate popup. We need a news ticker lol. After playing more of my current game, I've had my intel tell me so and so made peace with the same enemy - 3 times! And yet I was never informed they were even at war in the first place.
Either that's photoshopped, or there's some crappy image compression at work. Still funny!
I always get notified when another civilization will attack me, they says something like we will wipe you out, etc, never had a civ attack me without first declaring war on me. I'm talking about when the computer attacks another computer. The way it is now you have to check the foreign treaties sect
I would like to see some sort of popup or message when one AI civ declares war on another AI civ. I think there's a popup when they declare peace, because after declaring war on someone, they turned around and made peace with their enemy to better focus on me.
