create a starport upgrade path like other buildings have. you could combine the defense buildings like the orbital fleet manager with a advance version of the starport that way I won't have to waste a tile on building it. I like this idea ALOT. Looking at it from the human point of view, it saves us

Whoops! Just rechecked the patch list and see that 'No Tech Trade' is there (was it just added?) That is great! It will be really neat to have unique civilizations to battle against. Next: The middle ground for tech trading ---> Only being able to trade tech that you've personally research (or that you've researched more than 50%, in cases where you steal / or make a trade).

As mentioned in #16, there doesn't seem to be any sort of bone thrown to those who consider the tech trading out of control. What is the offical word/opinion of the Dev's on this? Is this going to looked at in 1.1X or later? Is it in 1.1 but just not on the list? (Seriously, how difficult would it be to have a 'No Technology Trading' option? Does this break the AI or the Diplomacy Screen?)

I didn't mind the campaign, but what really irked me was the ending (no, I won't spoil it....thought there isn't ANYTHING to spoil). Bottom line: after slogging through 13-14 levels I get to the 'big payoff' and the Dreadlord do build a thing...NOT A SINGLE thing. Not a planatry improvement, not a ship, NOTHING. Needless to say it was a very disappointing end.

Blueprint is nice, but I think 'No-trading-tech-you've-not-researched' would fix another problem that irks me. On the 'Diplomacy', you can basically know what direction the AI's are going in (Tech wise) by seeing what Technology they have available to trade. If the above change were to go through, then (I would assume) only the tradable tech would show up on the 'Diplomacy' screen (not any other techs that they may have aquired from other AI).

Don't know if you want AI suggestions, but here it goes: Suggestion #1: The AI needs to make Cargo-based Sensor Ships (not just scouts) and use them properly. All too often, I'm able to send a fast ship ahead to bait the enemy into coming into range of my fleet. I can only assume that, if the AI were to 'see' the fleet, it wouldn't blantantly put the blinders on and doggedly pursue my 'bait' to its death. I would like to mention that this also happened to me in the 9th (10th?) Campaign mission, and it was also in after the invasion of a Drengin planet. I also had a massive die off (so I didn't get the Trillion BC I would have gotten in tax revenue). But, having a full planet (with the corresponding taxes) was quite nice.

I think this question has probably been answered before, but I can't find the thread. What I'd eventually like to do is create a selection of 'blueprints' (ie. a number of hulls that I spend a significant amount of time getting them just how I like them) for all the different types of ship-types I'm likely to need in a game (ie. by shooting at that enemy next to it? Those are parsecs you're talking about. When we move a ship to attack, it simulates the ship closing that distance to get into firing range. Starbases can't move so they need to wait for ships to come to them.

I don't think the machanics of GC2 will allow Heroes like the ones in MOO2 (and others). I've decided to soften my stance on this. If the Developers decided to add to the Option Screen a toggle for a 'Weeks/Months' timeframe, that would be fine (Heck, I'd probably even choose 'Months' in my games). This is an assine subject. I'd much rather have the developers devote their time to fixing balancing issues & stamping out bugs than going back and making a pointless cosmetic change. Heck, the developers could have made it a 'Galactic Time Unit' instead of a week or month (it's just not PC to force our way of counting time on the universe...unless its at the point of a phasor).... However, if StarDock does decide to have the excess money increase approval rating, I would think they would need to cap it at some realitively low number (i.e. max approval through social spending = 10-20%).
