I'd like to play in immense galaxies, but there is simple to much micro management.
they need to tune down ship maintance then... cause its killing me i have 3 economic anomilies @ 34%, tax @ 49% with 200b and i'm still in the red!
Yea, ship maintenance is one thing that should be reduced.
Having morale be dead to the Yor. The Yor are machines, which means that there are good odds that morale would have no effect on them whatsoever. Being machines, its much more likely that individual unit maintaince would be an issue (probally a large upkeep cost for large populations). The same goes for taxes. Why would they have a tax system when its more likely they would be more concerned about efficiency? Instead of taxing individuals, they would work them like machines, alwa
No-I mean maybe-I mean YES! .... Yes
Maybe the Yor could be tweaked to have a poor standing with organic races. Also, if we make a custom race, can we specify it to be robotic?
The Yor are cool, but they seem unbalanced in early and late game. In early you can't really have any direct buildings that help the economy, you have to research. I got really close to debt, then I got the economy efficency centers(or whatever they are). That really boosted me. But after I conquered the Dark Yor(irony) I stopped building a military(bad move). Into the late game the Arceans declared war and I had been waiting for this, as I had been fattening up on techs. But I build my first sh
2. If Valve makes an RTS, they should make it based on Half-Life. Combine vs. Resistance would be cool.
Now that would be fun. Striders walking around blowing the crap out of buildings while enemies scramble into buildings. In most RTS games units just line up and get shot at. In real life(today) armies don't fight like that, except in Napoleon's day. Rebels just wouldn't line up and get shot at by the Combine, vice versa for the Combine. It would be reall
TIME TO KILL MEATBAGS!
I'll make my Yor leader's name HK-47! Yesss.....that will fit quite nicely....
Ashbery: Yup...gamers hate the screen THAT MUCH
...and who doesn't hate that screen? (Call me crazy, but the GalcivI invasion screen was better. It left more room to the imagination.)
I wonder how the Yor will work since they have no morale....
I think its time for us players to stop rushing out and buying these games--read the reviews first
Yea I learned that lesson a long time ago. @Empire Earth III. None of the sites have reviewed it yet, not even Gamespot and it's been released for about eight days now. Whats going on?!
You could be like some other strategy games. If you conquer the capital you now have control over all of the enemy's planets. Ofcouse this would be terribly unbalancing and would be exploited easily.
Scout for their best planets out there, like class 16 or above. Find the best one and take it! Have a fun war
The truth of the matter is Christmas release for products, any products, are a VERY big deal.
Ah, the spirit of Christmas: [link="http://www.stari.ro/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/uncle_san_i_want_you_to_spend_a_lot.jpg"]"BUY OUR STUFF FOR YOUR KIDS TODAY OR ELSE THEY WILL DISOWN YOU!"[/link]
I think you guys messed up/overlooked on the drengin economy tree. They still have those boring and bland banking centres and those stock markets. Give us some evil things! Oh, and I think a part of their research branch is messed up. Besides that, I think planet quality needs to be looked at. If you have a big polluting factory, how is it going to lower the quality if all of the tiles are filled with buildings? I think it needs to be like it wa
I revently upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007 and I just simply don't like the new intrerface. I think that the 2003 office worked much better than the 2007 one. So is there a simple way to make the 2007 office look like the 2003 office? I've googled, but to no avail. My major problem is with Powerpoint and Word. they are just all look and no play. I mean I looked for custom animation for half an hour. Who knows how long it'll tak
I frankly get annoyed if there is a race with the same color as me. Maybe there could be a subset of colors for player races which is distinct from standard races? Maybe allow the player to change his color mid-game in case there is a neighboring race of the same color? I
I feel your pain. Maybe you could have striped influence, or checkered influence colors. I do feel that changing color in game would be a nice feature. Especially if another civ has that event where the
I play my own songs all the time when I play GC2. I'm not sure what the problem is. Just turn off the backround music tabs in the audio menu, and play your own music.
No offense, but man! You really don't like the idea of an ingame audio player don't you?
...the Yor aren't even enabled yet.

In reality planetary invasions would take a considerably long time to win. I mean it takes us a few years to defeat another nation, so a planet would invading a race's united planet would be hard and strenuous. You're applying a human history model to space combat between different species. We've never seen a major species vs. species conflict before, with both using spacefaring technology. Total extinction might be the only way to take over another
In reality planetary invasions would take a considerably long time to win. I mean it takes us a few years to defeat another nation, so a planet would invading a race's united planet would be hard and strenuous. The only way I can see planetary invasions being completed in a week is with minor races. Since they might not be completely united, they would be easily overwhelmed.
and also a masochist (Pirates AND Dread Lords AND Jagged Knife all at once? Bring it on!)
Ah, so you're a Drengin eh?!
a "pusher ship" that just moves it in the right direction, and goes back for another rock. Why waste an engine? There's a tremendous amount of kinetic energy at those speeds.
Actually in space there is no friction, except a sort of gravity friction. But none the less, the pusher ship could just slowly pull away from the asteroid when it reaches its maximum speed. SInce there is no air to slow it down.
I agree the game mechanics need to be improved. For example, the research mechanism. It should allow multiple researches to be conducted at the same time. Doing it one by one is really not realistic and practical anymore. In fact, it could probably be tweaked to the extend it allows planets to focused on certain area of research. For instance, planet with more trade centres, are better off with research on trade related topics than on say advance computing. I really think it is time f
It would be smarter to do what the aliens did in Footfall.... park your ship out in the asteroid belt and throw rocks.
That's a whole new ballpark, but I like the idea! Throw rocks at enemy planets sounds like asteroid mining could be used offensively. More reason to take as many as you can. Especially if the mines are close to your planets.
