I made a Prometheus (BC-303) with the help of another modder a few weeks ago, so far the one I have, I'd give it a "B" I'd like to do more work on it but I also want to play the game email me at russ at emezger dot com and I could send it to you, I also have a very basicly skinned Daedalus (BC-304) ie no engine or window textures, just basic plating that i'm still working on as well. When I

Yeah, I'm 100% sure its not there, I even did a search through my HD for it... did I not do something in the install? Was this only a legacy from the early betas? Otherwise is there any other way I could get access to that file or feature? I bought the regular retail box version right around the launch date, and am running the latest 1.1 beta pach as of 4/20.

I've heard about something called GCConfig through searches on how to make the game span 2 monitors. However I cannot seem to find any info on how to get it. I searched my gc2 directory and its not in there... should it be? Thanks for any help.

I cant find anything on GCConfig, I was wanting to set my resolution for double monitors, and I keep seeing references to some sort of utility called "GCCONFIG" yet it doesnt seem to be anywhere in my gc2 directory. Where can I find this and how can i activate it?

I found a 3DS Max mesh off the web, and I'm attempting to convert it for use as a hull in the game. After I solved my export problems I came across another problem: Giant hardpoints appear all over the model before I went through and used dummys to make proper hardpoints. The worst thing is when I attach a weapon or engine to this the item becomes gigantic in correspondance with the size of the hardpoint. Is there

Excellent! Thanks guys! I now am able to export and use in the game but I'm having problems with hard points. It shows the ship to be covered with them and they are huge, making whatever i attach giant regardless of how i scale it in the ship builder.

I grabbed some 3d models off the web and am trying to export to .x format for use in the game. I'm using 3DS Max 8 and I downloaded the latest Panda exporter. When I choose Panda Xporter tools I do export all objects choose my directory and click the export button then 3DS Max pauses a bit and a pop up displays "Don't know how to save that file type" I have a feeling I'm missing something simple, what am I doing wrong and how

Good move on the off site mod database. For copyright reasons it would be good to keep the more... controversial copies or mods of material that is agressively defended off the website of the game's maker.

What would be cool as far as a Trek mod would be through components and hulls in the ship designer, so it would allow you in essence to design your own Trek ships. ie. various disc shaped hulls for federation ships, and nacell components etc. The thinking is you could use the same essential dish to make say a Nebula or a Galaxy class ship based on nacell configuration, same thing with say a Reliant vs Enterprise in Wrath of Kahn. Similar dish reconfigured. On top of that you could

You know what, I do wish there was some involvement in the tactical combat, turn based combat is silly (who’s going to stand there while your fleet is decimated while waiting for your turn) I do agree, and going full RTS would basically be another game within a game so it would obviously be too much work. What’s left then? Take a look at the combat from Star Trek: Birth of the Federation and Star Wars: Rebellion. The tactical combat there w

I was spelling phonetically, stretching the "e" sound. That also reminded me of a Tom Green commercial for Mt. Dew “taste the delicious taste” It’s fun with redundancy.

From that review: "Galactic Civilizations II, an epic spacestrategy game set in space" I need more SPACE! I have a feever, and the only prescription is more SPACE!

I think the HP going up is sort of simulating a "Scotty" type guy/group of guys in the engine room keeping everything together while the ship keeps taking hits, also moving the HP up is the same as reducing the effectiveness of the opponents weapons, ie the bridge crew manuvering the ship so it isnt taking hits dead on or in vulnerable areas.

There was a turn based strategy title set around the Star Trek universe that came out a while back, Birth of the Federation, the combat system from that game actually would be a solid compromise. What it did was group your fleet into battle groups, all ships in the same size class, and you tell each group what maneuver you would like them to perform. The maneuver selection was turn based and fairly cinematic. After both sides selected thei
