AI in Dark Avatar vs Dread Lords in Dark Avatar GalCiv2 Forums

Hi, how does the AI in Dark Avatar compare to the AI in Dread Lords? Do all AI advances/improvements in DA also appear (sooner or later) in a patch for DL? I am mostly interested in a challenging AI, not so much in feature additions - so I wonder whether it makes sense to buy the expansion pack purely from an "AI perspective".
