Have you noticed that there are five or six difficulty levels *above* those two? They're just trying to make the AI at those difficulty levels more consistent with their names. Not quite the same thing as dumbing it down - because if you want it hard, you just pick an appropriately hard difficulty level. I dont want
Yes I was disappointed to see this in the last Beta 3A changelog: "Normal and Bright AI intelligence levels made a bit easier." The reason we love GalCiv is the great AI. Please dont dumb it down!
Well much later in the game now the Torians with their Population Growth pick are blowing everyone else away. Next comes the Altarian Republic with the Economic Trait picks of course....
Im not asking for it to be switched off. Im asking for an option to be able to choose to switch it off. Why in the world anyone would argue against having more options making a game more varied, fun, and different blows my mind....
I just had the Drath surrender to me because they were at war with the Alteran Republic. They were just as strong as I was as well as other races and I hated to see them out of the game. I was battling the Alterans from the other side and it would have been a fun two front war! I hate it when AI's just give up and wish I could turn this feature OFF!!!
One way I made sensors much more important in the game is to make the hull types start out with zero sensors. Makes you have to put sensors on your ships...
Well in my current game I gave the Torian the population growth trait pick at 70% and they have taken over half the map!
Seems like this new 1.1 Beta has given this trait some power! Population Growth is now very very important! Is it too strong???
Another way to possible slow this down would be to decrease the starting credits and starting ships but this is the one thing I cannot figure out how to modify....
Allow us to play with 10 races in the game as there are 10 races in the game! 10 races + our 1 custom race!
increases Hull strength. Isnt hull strength just for rail gun defense? So which is it???

Ive figured out how to mod the starting race stats in the raceconfig.xml but can find how to mod starting cash or ships. Anyone know?
Anyone tried doing this? Is there a size limit? How far can you go? Is there a limit of too many ships that can go in a fleet? Advice?
