This is a strategy game, not a universe simulator. If a visual scale issue like this is your biggest problem, then GC must be a pretty good game. Think of the two great Master of Orion games that were totally unplayable by someone with your standards of realism! LOL

Too bad that Control-arrow or Alt-arrow has not been mapped to the main screen. I 'd also love to be able to scroll the mini-map!
I think it's reasonable to expect minors to colonize within their own system, though. That doesn't require interstellar travel.
another accurate and well-deserved rave. Congrats, guys!
In fairness, Brad, the overheating issue is an issue on my non-homegrown laptop.
I would appreciate any advice that can be offered on how to add new minor races to the game.
Congrats to the Stardock team! I am a long-time MOO fanatic (MOO1 > MOO2 > 0 > MOO3) and was quickly taken with Galciv I when it was released. However, I soon realized that it did not have the depth of the MOOs and was more like an early Civ. But GC2 is a much, much better game. This is probably the best space 4X since MOO2 and maybe since MOO1. Not just in the quality and playability, but with the innovative features! <img src="http://im
The poster is trolling because he has obviously not played the game. Minor bugs here and there, but absolutely nothing compared to most games.
I think anyone who wants the development team to add multiplayer should consider contribute some of their own personal funds to finance this effort. After GalCiv, the Stardock was willing to put in MP if enough players were willing to pre-order it. Only a very small pct of fans were willing to do that, so MP wasn't put in. The game would have to be so dumbed-down for MP, it would ruin the SP experience.
A - I want all developer effort spent on enhancing the single-player experience
DRM turned me into a software pirate. Let me explain. I bought a legitimate copy of NeverWinter Nights when it came out. Loved it. Then they released a patch that added new copy-protection code and suddenly the game stopped working with my CD-ROM. Suddenly, I could no longer play the game I paid for! I complained along with a few others affected by this patch, but we were in a minority and so the general gaming community assumed w
After a few games, these are ten issues that have stood out for me: The Planet Council: -- It makes little sense for the Planet Council to meet with only 2 races -- In the council vote, races sometimes vote against their best interests in the current game. For example, voting against starbase taxes when they have no starbases. Random Events: -- Events are sometimes very inappropriate for planet (ocean event on Mars
On my 1024x768 laptop, the mini-map at 100% zoom (for Gigantic galaxies) is not useable because the dots are too tiny. Therefore, I am constantly using the 200% zoom for the mini-map. I have since realized that a scroll for the mini-map would be extremely useful. Currently, I have to zoom out, reposition on the mini-map, and then zoom back in. Having tiny arrow buttons on each of the 4 sides of the mini-map would be a huge boon, at least for
I played a lot of GalCiv I when it came out, but I just stumbled across a Class 31 planet in my first game of GalCiv 2. Actually, it's a class 26 planet, but my racial bonuses bump it up to a 31. Sweet! Naturally, I named it 'Eden' and took a screen capture for posterity It also has 3 bonus squares By the way, it woul
