I think the "modifier" you speak of is the hull size category. Super projects are cumulative I'm pretty sure... I've gotten a couple logistics thingies a couple times, but it was a while ago...

I feel like most advertising is overdone... the only way I see any ad getting me to buy a game is if, say, GalCiv 3 was coming out next month and I didnt know about it until I saw the ad--basically a game I would already be interested in, but wasnt aware of. The time gap where I would want to keep up with sequels, but not read up enough online about them was maybe half a year. I think what would be far more effective, especially in a magazine, would be if the magazine did an article about
could you lose? by allying with everyone, then one of ur allies getting a tech victory? that would suck... but i guess you'd deserve it in a weird sense
u are using the newest patch right? I think that was supposed to be fixed from 1.11, but I havent tested it yet
It would also be nice if renaming could take place from that screen
This really just makes things really really complicated. If, say, I picked extra soldiering or social production for humans, do enslaved humans havethese characteristics? Will there be different base fighting stats like in MoO3? Would they even get the full soldiering bonus from techs(I know I wouldnt fully arm enslaved drengin durin a war). Who takes casualties in subsequent battles? How does their growth work? Does each population have independent growth rates? Ideas like this should re
Except for the mindbogglingly complicated ringworlds, planets+stars being destroyed+rebuilt. I believe MoO3 has a lot of those "features." One important bit in making a game is to Keep it Simple..... a lot of people cant play overly complicated games. More races probably wont happen since the "story" has been written already-- wont matter once the "attributes" of a civ are in xml form (so priority of "troop tech" can be set and so on..)
In patch 1.1 then you get the extra tiles from the ability, but asrandom50 said, only with colonized worlds. I think invaded or culture flipped worlds show an increase numerically, but dont show extra tiles. (before the patch then all worlds only showed the numerical increase)
hate to disagree duckness, im playing hardest(suicidal?) right now against drengin.... i kinda feel bad cuz im using the missile one (psionic something?) and ive taken over enough planets to steal the prereq to the mass driver one.... so once they wise up and get defense against me im gonna just switch-doesnt seem like he got ethics . I think the AI should prioritize that (like the manufacturing techs and p
I'm currently trouncing the AI on like crippling (or something close), part of it is because, after they declared war on me (I had no military), I just switched research to troop techs, giving me advantage 9 to their 1.... except my crap planets they couldnt touch me. I then was able to research counter techs and build up an uber fleet... is it only the human and Korx AI's that dont give priority to soldier techs? w/o Planetary bombardment a la Moo3 then thats a pretty important tech....
My only guess is that Stardock used "tiers" of growth is some table, ie if you have 10-12 pop u get X*(approval modifier), and if you have 13-15 pop u get Y*(approval modifier) By going "back" to 88?, did you mean 77?
same thing happened to me earlier today, i emailed in my debug.err+the save file, it sucked cuz i was about to win... but couldnt make any transports
Just finished my first game on 1.1, I played 4 AI's randomly chosen on Tough on a Large galaxy. I got Humans, Altarian, Yor and Arceans. The beginning was pretty tough, I went -500 every other turn until a few big planets I had started getting me cash, using the new+improved PQ (although it doesnt seem to work sometimes?? I think it doesnt kick in when a planet culture flips). After my economy got going, I didnt need to fire a single shot, I could bribe the AI ea
I went to the Core tab in the Shipyard to obsolete the Core ships, and after obsoleting one, it kicked me out into the "all" tab.... was this intentional? It would be nice if you stayed in the same tab or something
With patch 1.1, Neutrality Learning Centers exist (thanks Stardock).. but they don't auto-upgrade (they should "exist" in the upgrade hierarchy above discovery spheres or something).... That would be really convenient. Nice patch, Takari
Anyone know how to delete the core ships (so they arent in the way) or know if that'll be an option later to hide them/free up their names for personal use?

An update: Restarting + running w/o other programs fixed the problem. I had firefox, winamp and emule open before when it did not work. Visually, I run the game at 1024 x 1280, and not in fullscreen mode.
grr lag sry bout double post
I have this problem as well, and my drivers are new, so i dont think that's the problem Heres my debug.err: Debug Message: Version v1.1 BETA-2A last updated on: Thu Mar 30 21:37:53 2006 Debug Message: Could not find a TGN Serial No. Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.********* System Info Time: 4/3/2006, 13:17:46 DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Machine Name: MOENG Opera
Anyone know if that is a bug or a design choice? I think its a bug because your first planet does get different tiles if you take planet quality bonus (10 -> 12) but none of the other planets do..... Hopefully this is clarified / fixed soon, 8 pts for a small bonus like added max pop is pretty poor
I only played the first beta once, but I was forced to upgrade to larger ships when the computer got large hulls w/ defense, I just did not have enough room for firepower or speed so he could both outrun me and take my opening volley, then decimate what I had.... Did I wait too long? How do you guys counter high def ships (>20 or so, tiny hulls cant get high enough offense to do dmg consistently)
Check out this news on Dailytech.com: Link To think so much of this anti-copy protection arose because of Stardock's great marketing decision. Thanks again Stardock

I just finished a game vs new "new+improved" terran AI.... boy they're WAY better. However, I think that for the scripts that choose the AI's techs, ya'll at Stardock may have gone a bit overboard. For example, while I was getting spanked all around by crazy battleships with like 70 attack and 150 defense..... I could also just ignore them because the AI never got advanced troop mod.... or like.... any soldiering bonus...... A planet w/ 50
