Please ! Please ! Don't kill the Torians ! I love them. If the Torians disappear i will hack all your servers and kidnap your children, rape your houses and burn your spouses. Uh... Got a bit carried away, but, well, please, leave the torians alone... Kill those thalans, they only are insects, they exist only to be crushed. The Torians are good indeed ; but that's great ! When they get on your nerves with their kindness, you destroy them with immense satisfaction ; when you feel

Hum.... Errgh... Cough.... Eeek.... I just mean... Woah. This is totally astonishing. Thank you guys for putting so much work in this wonderful game. PS : i didn't see anything about the "goto" button in the ship building windows (the one that leads to the shipyard and would do a better job by leading to the strategic view of the planet where the ship was built), but im so astonished that i won't mention it. Oops, too late ! Damn gamers. Never happy.

It's me again, on that "goto" button. I know, i know. What about adding a button then? A shipyard button, that would lead directly to the shipyard, to modify the design ; and a "goto" button that would lead to the strategic view of the planet? Or at least, when you leave the shipyard, center the view on the building planet? Don't know if it's a good idea, maybe it will be too many buttons...

I had a few games where i focused only on building influence starbases. I play at the "tough" level. I think there is something wrong with the way it is done. I tried following the same playing scheme everytime, and it worked every time. First of all, i played on large galaxy with all the other things randomized (6 opponents set at intelligents). What i did : expand (not very much cause in my last games the habitable planets were uncommon), then rush my closest neighbor with medium sh

Thank you. MY UI SUGGESTION FOR 1.2 : You see that "goto" button, in the window that appears when you finished building a ship? Well, please make this button so that it centers the strategic view on the planet that just built the ship. For the moment, it goes to the shipyard, which is completely useless. Even more, when you leave the shipyard, you aren't even centered on the building planet ; the view just returns where you were.

Thank you for the update ! Just one minor thing : could you make the "goto" button (in the window that appears when you finish building ships)so that it leads to the planet where the ship has been built? As of now it only leads to the shipyard, which is useless... When i click "goto" i want to see where my new ship is available on the strategic view...

What id like to see : finally a "Goto" button that leads the player to the planet where the ship has been built. Now, when you click the "goto" button, it leads to the shipyard, which is totally useless... I don't want to build more ships, i want to see where my damn ship was built and access quickly to the building planet ! And when you exit the shipyard the view isn't even centered at the planet where the ship was built...

I played my first 1.1 tough game with no tech trading, and i found it really easier... I was constantly in front of the tech race, and ended fighting "medium" AI ships with "massive" sized ones. Maybe i was lucky, or maybe it was the setting of the game (medium galaxy, 4 opponents, all random)? Or maybe it is because i dont exploit tech trading enough in normal games? What do you think about it?

I love it as well. I put the game aside after 1.0X, and started a brand new 1.1 game : it rocks. The game feels really more polished, there are tooltips explaining the numbers, the AI is far better than before, even if i lost this game at "tough" it was still pure pleasure. At one point i thought i could win, i launched a surprise attack on the Iconians ; concentrating all my forces in their sectors. But they launched a surprise attack on my homeworld ! I had problems getting out of this war, i

Well in my first game in 1.1, at the "tough" difficulty, the iconians made fleets... Lots of them. They made fleets with 8 ships each, combining big fighters and small fighters, and they actually did a good job fighting my surprise invasion... They even attacked my home world while i was attacking their planets. I think the AI improved a lot, and the game is really really fun as it is. Sure, it is perfectible, but face it, this is the best AI that exists in video games as of today.

Keep that ship pack idea for the expansion. Selling bits of art for your game leads people to think you just want to get money from them. Plus, since the game, according to you, is so easily moddable, we will soon see very very good mods, that will perhaps be as good as your ship packs ; people will start to think that you consider them as milk cows, like every other game editor out there. (This is what is happening for Bethesda : mos

I agree, no game economic model is the only correct one. But what is discussed here is not the quality of the economic model, but it's clarity. We want it to be logical, easy to understand, easy to use. We want appearing numbers, that tell us where our money is going, where it comes from, in a detailed and clear way. I think most of the gamers are ok with the actual model (except about waaste or things like this, which are, finally, minor issues) ; what they dont like is that the way it wor

I got an idea about social production. Why couldn't we make it work the same way military and research productions do? The social sliders could be the way to control how efficient your entertainment or influence buildings (or both) are. You would gain morale bonuses, or more approval rating, or even more cultural influence, if your social spending is high. It wouldnt just control the building speed, but it would control how efficient your "social" buildings are (embassies, cultural ce

This link contains very good information about the mistakes the AI still makes : http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=149664 Im copying/pasting what Gufnork said in this excellent thread (i hope he wont mind) : I repeat, this is from Gufnork, a very good TBS player from the Apolyton community : 1. Transports should be protected better. They mustn't always be protected, but if several of it's transports have been gunned down they should star

Im an "End Turn Button" psycho. I just press turn every time i see it turning green. It's quite fun, but i do realize that if i want to win a game someday i have to change. I played on a large galaxy yesterday, pressing "turn" like a mad as always, it was quite fun to see the other civilizations growing and growing all over the place while i was stuck in my little corner of galaxy. I lost that game, they had starbases, fleet and so on everywhere, i had a few crappy worlds... Must... control

Those economic sliders really make the game too easy ; the AI cant deal with them very well, it seems. When you know what type of ships your enemies have (through espionage or other means), you just have to put your research sliders on 100% for a few turns, research all the weapon or defense techs you need (knowing what type of ships your enemies have) ; then you put the military slider on 100% and pump out your new ships like mad. It's really fast, and the AI wont adapt to it : you can (and wil

Can we do this as well? I mean, watching the AI play without a human player? If so, how?

First of all, congratulations. On the game itself, and on the sales. You guys are a breath of fresh air in the computer games industry. You succeeded in establishing trust between you and your players. Too often, we gamers are reading empty promises about games, not knowing what the developers are doing, and finally we are disappointed ; this is what happens most of the time with big games companies. By giving constant informations about the development of galciv2 you made us f
