I've also got the hollow planets now, since I upgraded to Beta 2. My ships are still normal and 3D though, so it isn't the tactical view.

I don't think economic starbases actually increase the amount of money you make, do they?
I've never heard the word 'chiclets' before. What does it mean?
I'm not big on RAM, but I think you have to put the chips in in pairs, so a 256MB chip probably won't work with a 512MB.
The total score is (sum of scores)/(square root of number of games submitted). So it's somewhere between a sum and an average. Your score generally increases as you submit more games, but if you submit a really bad one it's possible for it to go down. Cunning system, to my mind.
I think it would be nice if a few, rare events are beneficial to the person who choses the good path for all of them. Not all decisions in life are more profitable if you follow an evil path, afterall. Well you could imagine that there are some decisions like that going on behind the scenes. If there was a choice where the good option had more
The Mind Control Centre is mis-labelled, and doesn't do what it says it does. Not at all, in fact. It's actually an economy building, and gives a 100% economy bonus to the planet it's built on.
No, you need to be "Close", which is one above "Friendly" and is very hard indeed to get to.
The dreamcatcher mod for NWN is brilliant - definitely try it if you're going back to NWN. You might want to play through Shadowlords first - it's the prequel, and is also pretty good.
I definitely agree with the original poster, I've been thinking this for a while. How good someone else's military is depends on who you are, and how your weapons and defenses match up.
One of the scenarios splits the races into Good, Neutral and Evil and has them fight as teams.
Are you worried that Suicidal is too easy in the demo? It'll definitely be quite different in the full game. I don't know what's missing from the demo, but I guess you can't play full size maps/have all the AI players, and that makes quite a big difference. Also the full game has been patched up to V1.1, which made the AI a lot smarter and made the game quite a lot more interesting. So if you're worried that suicidal will be too easy - I'm almost certain it won't be. If you
Definitely depends on the value of the tech, how much money they have and your diplomatic ability. I guess how friendly you are to them might make a difference as well, but I'm not sure.
random50, I'd just like to say you're a legend. Great work!
Bumping your own post is fine on this forum, everyone does it, otherwise it doesn't get seen (need at least one reply to appear on the "Recent Posts" list).
Me too! Me too! I hate it too! Please please get rid of it!
I'm not sure I like the idea that aggression is randomised from game to game. You don't know what kind of game you're going to get then until you're a long way through. Personally I don't like peaceful games, since it makes it too easy for me to just sit there and hit the turn button. Obviously I could start a war myself, but if no-one attacks you themselves it takes the tension away. So I don't like the fact that sometimes I play a really long game and find it ultimately disappointing - presuma
Try playing with tech rate on slow or very slow - I think that makes it quite a bit more interesting.
Systems with really good planets have purple stars, I think.
I think you can choose an "archive" option from Stardock Central, which will put the game into a form you can just put onto a CD and take home with you.
The AI can't destabilize, no. It's likely you've just got over-high population. It's very hard to maintain high morale if you have more than a farm or so on a world. A lot of people recommend not building farms at all in fact, just to keep morale up. Myself I think they're useful (more taxable population, more soldiers in war), but you do need to work hard to keep the people happy. Research the entertainment techs, they make a big difference.
I think that won't affect anything else, and it'll still run fine, just as if you hadn't customized the Terrans in the first place.
Each race can build its own Hyperion Shrinker (+25% miniaturization or so I think). If the Torians had conquered quite a few other races, they could have ended up with several Hyperion Shrinkers, which could explain their big miniaturization bonus.
Ah now, I disagree, I always build at least one farm on every planet, and several on larger planets. Having a big population is a huge benefit to economy, plus you get much harder to invade, and get a lot more influence. Morale isn't normally too much of a problem if you build all the morale trade goods, research the morale techs, and ideally grab a morale resource or two. The lots-of-farms technique has worked winning on Suicidal.
The trouble I have with being Good is that there don't seem to be any other Good races to be friends with me. The Altarians are always good, but that's it. I'd thought maybe the Drath and maybe the Torians would be Good, but both of them always seem to end up neutral. Does everyone else see the same?
