Its much better to have a number of designs of your own. Have defensive units which would only sit in orbit around a planet and then have offensive units for interception and offense

The Flagship name is really a misnomer. Its not really a flagship but a free unarmed survey ship you get at the start of the game to explore anomolies with. Once you get medium hulls you can upgrade it to something with guns and weapons so its a real 'flagship'.

another quick thing to note is that by not catering to groups 3 and 4 you could actually lose sales because people may not bother to buy the game after all when they otherwise would!

I ask that because many gamers who are on the fence on a given title won't purchase a game if it requires them to treat their CD like a dongle key. Why? Because let's face it, we lose our CDs eventually. Or we damage them. And so what happens is that people who are on the fence on a given title simply choose not to buy the game.<

MMM so in theory although the game starts in a medieval world it could evolve into a post-modern future society at some point? Sounds really cool and a real time-waster. Certainly a very very interesting concept - although probably not one for me.

I prefer registration for more updates - which authenticates me as per the Steam for online play or through a website for single player. Therefore if you have a legal copy of the game you can play, but with an illegal copy you can't. I would have preferred for the Stardock developers to give people everything they needed but the exec file, which they would have had to download from the Stardock website. I think putting a playable game out th

Posters, please respect SD. This is an age where devs/publishers trick you into buying the game, begrudgingly fix the worst bugs, then all the people in charge of the project retire because they sold 500 billion copies and they could care less whether you hate them and will buy their next game. Instead, SD does the unthinkable. T

i'm very impressed with this game and that it has no copy protection on the actual game and rather on the updates. I hate having to have cd's in the drive to play the game, especially when I already have a legal id key!! Just today I lent my dad my copy of Rome Total War (I am no longer playing it) and he cursed the fact that he had to have the cd in the drive to play it. The GalCiv2 model is awesome! <img src="http://images.st

I think most people would only play multiplayer GalCiv2 to set up games so they could do things like this because the ship design and tactical combat features look so cool. .

I like this idea actually. I think some of you are way too anti-multiplayer. This would be a really cool feature!! It wouldn't be all that costy to implement as most of the tools are already there, it would use the existing tactical engine, and it would be a lot of fun seeing if your ships could beat another person's fleet of ships. You could even try out fleets you have made against each other if you don't want to play multi!<br

sniff game is due for release here in Aus on March 13 - but that of course will be moved to March 14 because Monday is a public holiday in my state! I'd buy with direct download but I can only afford the game because I got an $100 gift voucher for EB for Christmas
