I've started writing a Galactic Civilizations 2 review on my website. Its part walkthru, part review (I call it a walkview ). part 1 has just been published! Check it out and let me know what you think! Part 1 <a href="http://www.waitingtoconnect.com/wtcsite/index.php?name=
cyber is right, you really have to mortgage your self to the hilt and basically build a colony ship per turn. You also have to accept that you won't get all the planets you want on the higher levels. Really they need a mode between beginner and normal where the AI has access to the higher level algorithms but only 50% of the economy so the step up isn't so hard. Part of it is also human annoyance factor tho - nothing worse than having the AI
I don't think that multiple trade modules actually make a difference slai47.
In one game I had recently three of the nine civs surrendered to the Thalans making them the strongest civ in the game!! They had me surrounded on two sides...
4) The armchair game developers. These are the people who really could make a much better game if only they had the money and developers to convey their genius onto the screen. To prove their genius, they'll use terms like "broken" or "unusable" to describe anything that they consider non-idea. Group #4 won't ever be s
i actually think that looks kinda cool - i had one terran ship with missiles on one wing and lasers on the other.
good here
I think thats a little bit too complicated. It overengineers the solution. It would be nice if your engine power gave you a defensive modifier upwards. So a faster ship attacked by a slower one had a 10% bonus per extra speed unit.
Personally I only enjoyed Morrowind when I started playing it on a machine that could handle it - which I only had 3 years after the game release! In 2002 when I had the game, I couldn't play it because even tho i had a top of the line machine for the time it was too slow to play properly
i go for ship strength in defense, offense and then go for luck and research also.
didn't realise that it was very strange to see my population continiously shrink ....
I got hit the same way when I was playing and I didn't account for the downturn....
has anyone else seen a planet in their empire rebel before like this?
thats strange - i tried to create a 'Corvette' class ship once and was told that I couldn't because it was an original ship design.
I clicked on the Default button in my characters list in the My Account section, but I still can't see anything? Can anyone help, or does it just take time to activate?
I was playing my first Metauniverse game last night and something very interesting happened. It was me, the Terrans and the Drengin in a tiny galaxy of 9 habitable planets. I had 3, the Terrans 4 and the Drengin 2. I had all of the resources available though, on five scattered starbases. Essentially I had overreached to grab them and my economy was hurting because of it. Spotting my weakness, the Drengin had declared war and to defend my sc
I've noticed the issue with weapon placement too. Sometimes if you remove a weapon you can't readd the same weapon again until you choose another object to add first.
funnily enough my second game just went the same way ! Killed the Drengin then got 90% of the galaxy just for me
The Consilium is a new empire in the Galactic Civilizations II Metaverse! Everyone is welcome to join: and we have a webforum set up at http://waitingtoconnect.com/consilium.
In my first game I was playing on sub-normal in a large galaxy with 5 opponents, the Drath, Terrans, Drengin, Yor and Altarians. I had a bottom corner of the galaxy and quickly grew to 7 planets. At the end of the second year I discovered a Ranger class ship, which I used to make war on the Yor because the Terrans had them on the ropes and I wanted the class 17 world they had in their possession. Quickly crushing the Yor and securing the pl
Its definitely an exploit if the starships orbiting the planet do nothing to stop you
I'd given that one a try flayed_one - but the sub-normals are quickly crushed by the normals leaving me to face some very scary uber powerful superpowers who want me for breakfast I think having a difficulty that knows how to use fleets effectively but only expands as fast as sub-normal would be a good start. Sub-normal only ever send one or two ship
version 1.0 had a lot of crash issues and a memory leak i think. you really should update using your serial number
I had very high hopes about this game, and I have to say.... I wasn't disapointed!!! This is the best game I have seen in the past five years. It has some issues, but most of those I can overlook. I've already set up my metaverse empire, The Consilium (for those who may want to join), and my metaverse characters. Now I just need to complete and upload some games!
